Universal Video Downloader adds right-click controls for finding and downloading videos from webpages. It displays available qualities and supports audio-only downloads.

The add-on uses a Windows companion containing a native messaging helper. The companion installs and runs yt-dlp and FFmpeg locally to detect streams, download selected media, and merge separate video and audio tracks. It is available from the project’s GitHub releases page.

Downloads require Windows 64-bit. DRM-protected media is not supported.
