Best of class, however non-intuitive Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen
It's great to see so much work put into this useful feature, even if it takes some study to understand the terminology and wall of functions - perhaps a better introduction might be warranted here.
*Edit: as the developer kindly pointed out to me, tile focus does indeed follow mouse clicks (provided scripts are enabled, as my install did not have previously). This is the 'automatic focus' I wished for
To clarify by 'mod click', I mean something like shift-left click to automate the open link in new tile procedure.*
Two major features are left outstanding:
1. An all-in-one mod click function to open a new tile in the default layout and load a link into it.
2. Automatic focus on tiles, either by following the cursor or even just clicking on it.Number two is the most frustrating here because you have to ctrl-tab or whatever to switch to the tile-tab manually before being able to do anything but scroll the page. It's very difficult having to track which tile is focused through the highlight border alone, would love a fix.
Added in Version 9.0, but will be removed in Version 9.1
With regards to the points raised:
1. There is a menu command and a mouse shortcut that already perform this function: right-click on a link and select 'Tile Link in New Tab' or 'Shift+Drag' a link. Either of these will create a new two-tile layout, with the original tab in one tile, and the link opened in a new tab in the other tile. Nevertheless, the requested feature was implemented in Tile Tabs 9.0, but will be removed in Tile Tabs 9.1 following some adverse user feedback.
2. A tile can be focused (made active) in several different ways: by clicking anywhere on the tile contents, or by clicking on the corresponding tab button, or by enabling auto-show of properties popups and then clicking on the popups when they appear. The idea of automatic focus on tiles has been thoroughly investigated, but cannot be implemented because it would interfere with the operation of menu commands and toolbar buttons.
