Simple and works

It works very well (with Firefox 34): just think to add a "?" at the end of the URL ("http://.../.../index.php?"), then paste the 'Content to send' ("param1=Value1&param2=Value2&..."), then click on 'Send the HTTP request' with the correct query (POST, DELETE, ...): the superglobals $_POST are properly created on the http server (Apache, ...).

Doesn't work for me Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternen

After 30 mins debugging, I tried another addon and found the problem was with this plugin, not the code I was testing in my app.

Don't know why, but I won't be using again. Nice UI though.

Details: variables sent via HTTP POST were not received by the web server (Apache).

You really should write that Poster opens with Ctrl+Alt+P )

In order to send a POST request with Poster using the Parameters tab, I had to do the following:

1. Manually add Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
2. Add my parameters in the appropriate tab
3. Press the "Request from Parameters" button in the separate tab
4. Finally press POST.

A well-designed tool would, ideally, handle these steps automatically. Maybe even have a "Build" button on the Parameters page that sanely ensures the Content-Type header is sent? Who knows.

Ditch this bullshit.

Good tool. It can have performance issues at times, though -- such as when GETting a large chunk of JSON data.

To robertvazan and others who installed it in a recent Firefox but can't figure out how to access it, here is how:

Click the Open Menu button (far right)
Click Customize
Click Show/Hide Toolbars
Select Menu Bar
Close the Customize tab

Now you can access Poster through the Tools menu bar dropdown, as before. Enjoy!

This add-on is not maintained for 3 years. After recent update to Firefox that removed add-on toolbar, there is no way to launch Poster after installing it. It's broken. Use HttpRequester instead:

Good - but lacks the feature of remembering endpoint resource URLs.

This addon does the job it says it does. If you can't find the icon for Poster in Firefox 29+ simply press Ctrl+Alt+P or alternatively push Alt or F10 to open the Firefox menu, click on Tools | Poster

Works nicely, but with the new firefox design, I can't see the icon anywhere, so I can't work with it...

GReat little utility. In fact I use it becasue SoapUI is such a mess. I cajole SoapUI into importing a WSDL and XSDs then I past the generated envelopes into POSTER. Works great. I wish I could save and share like you can with the Postman app on Chrome.

Can be better, but it's not bad Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen

It does what it says, but could be much better if you could open the response in the browser to see the actual rendered HTML output or download a file from the sent request.

I was expecting this plugin to open downloaded content inside browser and show the content. It does not do this and it does not use cookies from my browser. Nice idea bad realization.

Good intentions but kills the browser.

Concept looks good. Can this plugin be used to integrate my plugin with a hosted web-service for authenticating user/pass? Is there manual..How to get to the screen shown in screenshot

When browsing for files is there any way I can select more than one at a time or do I need to post them individually?

If I can post multiple files at once this is an A+ add on!!

The current implementation of XMLHttpRequest within Firefox does not allow multipart requests. If you'd like the ability to perform separate HTTP requests, that would be possible. If you like, please enter an enhancement request on the google code project page.

Fantastic tool. I'm using it for several months within Firefox.
This is the best REST test plugin I know both on FF and Chrome.
