  • Yours is actually the ONLY 'boss key' extension that correctly hides ALL open windows / child windows / pop-up windows. Can you possible combine your code with the flexible options in the 'Panic' extension (which doesn't work as well) - It would make Panic Button more usable. Also there really needs to be an option not to have the minimized 'toolbar'. Thanks.
  • You can customize hotkey by keyconfig extension: http://mozilla.dorando.at/keyconfig.xpi
  • da panic buton e super tare
  • Great, but a customizable hotkey would be much better!
  • Excellent add-on!
  • hmmm, why not add an extra button action that would enable to "hide all windows AND load homepage" instead (or load any number of tabs with pages chosen by user) ? e.g. close all tabs and open google.com, theworkpage of my boss to make serious (2 tabs)

  • I'd prefer to press F9 to hide browser - without the little toolbar. Then press F9 (or other modifiable key) to return the window as it was.
  • Would be greatly improved by:
    1) Allowing the user to specify the minimize and maximize keys (allow them to be different)
    2) Allow the user to have the choice between
    a) minimize only
    b) display new tab with user specified URL

  • there is a better version of this called panic which not only closes your pages but also opens another set page!
  • I really dig this add-on. Essential at the workplace. Works well in FF 3.1b3 as well. Haven't had any problems.
  • In a heavy work environment onscreen it is sometimes necessary to minimize only all the browser windows - I often need this and this fits the bill nicely. Just so you know its not only useful for panicky covert needs - its actually a useful work tool.
    thanks!
  • It is really amazing how you can just hide all windows with one click or a button. Although, I would like to recommend that you should put an option to delete history in the toolbar and close the current tab. Thanks.
  • First of all, yours is the only 'boss key' extension that works properly by actually closing ALL windows including Java pop up windows! Can we have an option though to turn off the screen 'restore' buttons that are left behind on the screen? Use of a restore hotkey instead (as an option) would be very useful. Someone with an 'eagle eye' will spot those buttons! Also, can we have the ability to change the 'hotkey' itself and add the 'button' to the status bar instead / as well as the toolbar.

  • Love it. Thank you. A great help.
  • This is lame..
Wouldn't it be easier to use the Windows + D Shortcut?
windows = [Between Ctrl & alt]
  • @S R: The request to close the current tab is already possible and easy to do without further enhancement to Panic Button. Click the 'x' on the tab or press ctrl-w to 'hide' it, then restore the tab by pressing ctrl-shift-t or select History | Recently Closed Tabs.
  • This is just great! Even with my very slow computer, this gets the job done almost instantly.

The option to hide only the current tab with a separate shortcut should be added in the next update, if possible.
  • Es una herramienta buenisima.
    Gracias
  • Excellent piece of kit!
  • Hide feature works ok now, thanks. Toolbar image doesn't change though. Be better if could restore with either keypress or mouse press and no toolbar was visible (return only with keypresses). Thanks for working on this! It's a good idea.
  • sounds great
    but i got 3.0
whenever my girlfriends walks in i'm always panicking to close down windows that i shouldnt have open
this add-on could be used at home as well as at work, although the idea of a company other than firefox themselves having a firefox browser puzzles me, as most companies would just use IE or safari or linux browsers that come with the computer
i cant wait 'till this gets upgraded to work on firefox 3.0
    still i think it's a good idea
please get it to work on 3.0
  • Doesn't work in latest verion 3...
