You can open the file because you’re already signed in. Your recipient may only see “Request access.” OpenAsGuest checks whether Google Drive and Dropbox file links open for signed-out visitors—before you send them.
Use it in one shot:
OpenAsGuest reports one of four conservative results:
If a link is restricted or broken, fix the sharing setting or replace the link and choose Recheck after fixing. A fresh check confirms when guest access now works.
Useful for resumes, portfolios, client deliverables, proposals, applications, event files, and team handoffs. It answers practical questions such as “Is this Google Drive link public?” and “Will this Dropbox link work without an account?”
Private by design
Version 0.1 supports Google Drive shared files and Dropbox shared files only. It does not currently support Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive folders, Dropbox folders, or Notion pages. OpenAsGuest checks guest access—not malware, ownership, named-recipient access, or future availability.
After OpenAsGuest verifies that a previously restricted or broken link now opens publicly, it may show an optional Buy Me a Coffee link. Every feature is free; donating unlocks nothing.
Use it in one shot:
- Open a supported sharing page, click the toolbar button, then choose Check this page as guest.
- Paste a Google Drive or Dropbox file link into the popup.
- Or right-click a supported link and choose Check link with its provider as guest.
OpenAsGuest reports one of four conservative results:
- Opens without sign-in
- Sign-in, password, or permission required
- Link may be broken or expired
- Couldn’t verify guest access

- Checks happen only after you explicitly request one.
- Firefox contacts only the original Google or Dropbox sharing flow, without your existing provider cookies.
- No OpenAsGuest server, account, link history, analytics, telemetry, advertising, or remote code.
- Sharing links and results are never sent to the developer or written to persistent extension storage.
