Oath Light — Recover Your Attention
Oath Light is a free, open-source tool built to help people break free from compulsive pornography use. It is not a generic website blocker: it is one part of a recovery system designed for people who have decided to quit and need a barrier that holds when willpower is low.
What it does
Blocks over 385,000 curated adult domains, with matching that covers subdomains automatically.
Detects explicit terms in 41 languages, including native scripts (Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, Japanese, Korean and more), leetspeak variants, and look-alike character tricks used to slip past ordinary filters.
Filters mixed platforms the way no whole-site blocker can. On Reddit, X, Pixiv, Tumblr, Mastodon and roughly 30 other platforms, Oath Light reads each platform's own per-item adult-content label and removes flagged posts before they render, so you keep the legitimate parts of these sites without the rest.
Forces SafeSearch on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yahoo, and blocks explicit search queries.
Defends against common workarounds: proxy sites, translation and archive wrappers, and raw IP navigation.
Built for recovery, not surveillance
Everything runs locally on your device. Oath Light sends no browsing data anywhere, keeps no activity reports, and has no accountability-partner reporting. There are no subscriptions, no premium tiers, and no ads. The entire codebase is open source under GPLv3 and available for anyone to audit.
Designed to hold under pressure
An optional desktop companion adds tamper resistance and a configurable uninstall delay, so a moment of weakness cannot undo a decision you made with a clear head. The friction exists for one reason: the person you were yesterday, when you chose to quit, deserves a say over the person you might be at 2 a.m.
Oath Light is for anyone who wants their time, focus, and self-respect back.
