Since this plugin isn't working in FF 57, there's workaround.
You would need to use userChrome.css setting (see instructions: https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx).
To disable close button you would need to add the following lines in userChrome.css:
visibility: collapse !important;
Yes this needs to be updated for the FF 57+
I will so will miss this Add-on if it's not updated.
Needs to be updated for the 57+ FF
I've been using it for a few months now, works great.
Se instala rápido, no necesita reiniciar, aplica los cambios automáticamente.
то что нужно!
It is small and simple, and works. great addon.
I just prefer to use middle-click to close tabs
What it basically does is removes all the close buttons. So you will have to use CTRL+W to close tabs now if that's what you want.
What I was looking for was a way to get one close button at the right hand side of the browser window for all tabs (Opera style), because I find I click the close buttons by mistake all the time and have to strain my eyes to prevent it.
Would it be possible however, to enable an option to show the close button only on the current tab?
No, I think that's outside of the scope of this addon.
Thank god for extensions and the author
Does what it promisses: It fixes what the firefox team broke. Flawless.
I found this by subscribing to Mozilla's planet blog feed, and the author's April 2014 blog about how he put this extension together at dirkjan.ochtman.nl is really informative and gave me great confidence in the quality.
Well, so I fixed this unjustified design decision with a single click (no restart nor enabling required; just click "install addon" and the buttons were gone). I would have preferred that the option never went away though.
does exactly what it claims...would be missing the possibility to hide the close button on each tab...who uses it anyway? (ok ok I know that probably everyone except of few)
I've been raging over the removal of the option to hide all the close buttons for days. Never actually stopped to think that an add-on would restore it, but here we are. This is the first I noticed, and it does indeed work. Thank you.
