There is no configuration.
Do the job!
It may be missing a display confirming the mouse gesture
Nonintrusive but indispensable. I do hope the author will be able to update it to work with Firefox 57 and later; I’m not looking forward to trying countless other gesture extensions to find a replacement that works just as well.
Last time I checked ( several months ago), the required API's were unavailable. Probably, around Jan 2018, I will have time to look into it again. Being so small, it is much easier to update it. But my experience is that Mozilla is completely unresponsive to addon authors.....
Works very well on my Windows machine, but not at all on OS X... :/
The usage statistics show a sizeable number of OS X users, meaning some people get it to work( unless they just have it cluelessy loaded and never deleted it). But I sometimes get this comment that it doesn't work at all. I think it is probably a configuration issue on OS X since some people appear to be happy with it.
So far, of the 4 complaints received from OS X users, not one of them has agreed to help me found out what it is wrong here, so nothing has changed and for some OS X users, it just doesn't work.
Because microgesture actually runs inside Firefox, where the OS is hidden from the addon ( we are not supposed to have to do anything special for OS X that I am aware of), it is actually a Firefox issue, but I can't submit a bug to Mozilla unless I know what's wrong and, as stated, nobody with OS X has been willing to help. Until then, Mac users, can try it, maybe it will work and maybe not!
méme avec les jeux java !
Would be good to have this in some public repo (ex. github). Simplistic and good :)
Love the tiny size and simplicity. Exactly what I was looking for!
Let me share my opinion as a heavy mouse gesture user and the author of Mouse Gestures Suite - a continuation of discontinued All-in-One-Gestures.
First - I think this extension is a good idea as a very lightweight and simple version of mouse gestures. Not everyone wants or needs mouse gestures with tons of options so it's good that those people now have a choice.
Second - and this also refers to draskold's comment - in my opinion the choice of actions is not fully optimal and I agree with him that "close tab" is one of the most frequently used gestures and the advantage comes from being able to perform the action from any place without having to reach standard browser controls. "Goto Top/Bottom of Page" are okay but not as important as "close tab" and others. "Open in the Current Tab" is redundant because this is achieved with standard left click so why do we need a gesture for it?
Frequency of gesture use (most frequent come first) - this is subjective list and refers to my usage only:
- close tab/window
- open link in new tab
- open link in new window
- open link in background tab
- undo close tab
- reload tab
- close window (with all tabs)
- open selection/search for selection in new tab
- switch to the tab to the left/right
- open new tab
- ...and then other less common gestures
Open in Current Tab _forces_ the link to open in the current tab; some links want to always launch in a new tab - I agree it is the least useful link gesture, but do you have a better suggestion for another link gesture?
I made a special "Tab Edition" which replaces page navigation with Open/Close Tab to address your concerns.
It generally works well. I would rather not have link gestures, which often annoy/confuse me when I mindlessly try to navigate back/forth. Thank you.
Go to the Homepage and you will discover a pref to stop link gestures. I'm not sure I like them either, but I am giving myself time to get used to them.
This is a useful and intuitive extension designed for physical efficiency. The included simple mouse gestures.accomplish everything needed for routine navigation. The Author's ultralight philosophy is sound. I wish there were more of it found in programmers. Well done and thanks!
please add to extension "reload tab", "new tab" and "close tab"gestures
I may add a "new tab" gesture in a future version. I was thinking a double right click.
Close tab and reload tab are already available in the user interface and neither are used often enough to need a gesture. The philosophy of this extension is only to make gestures that are easy to remember, very frequently used, and so simple that making the gesture is easier than rightclicking and selecting from the context menu.
