Junk Filter works without an account. We do not sell personal data or build an advertising profile from shopping activity.

LOCAL PROCESSING
The extension locally reads product information visible on supported marketplace pages, such as brand, title, price, seller and product identifier. Filter settings and personal allow/block lists are stored through Firefox extension storage. Firefox may sync these settings with the user's Firefox profile. Junk Filter does not receive personal allow/block lists.

EXCLUDED PAGES
Shopping carts, account, login, checkout and payment pages, and financial, medical, government and communication services are excluded locally from processing.

ONLINE PAGE CHECKS
On other eligible HTTPS pages, a lightweight controller may send the domain and URL path to the Junk Filter service to determine whether a supported service action applies. Search parameters and URL fragments are removed in the browser before transmission. The request also includes a random installation identifier, extension identifier and extension version. The service stores a one-way hash of the installation identifier. Domain and URL-path events are retained for no more than 24 hours.

PRICE COMPARISON
When a product page is detected, the extension may send the retailer, product title, displayed price and currency, product URL, and available details such as brand, seller, rating or product identifier. These fields are used to return applicable offers.

REPORTS AND FEEDBACK
A brand report sends the reported brand, local verdict, optional product identifier, marketplace and extension version. Free-form feedback is transmitted only after the user explicitly confirms consent in the feedback form.

FIREFOX OPTIONAL CONSENT
Local marketplace filtering works without enabling online features. Firefox requests separate optional technical-and-interaction-data permission before Junk Filter transmits the random installation identifier and extension version for online price checks, reports or service-controlled actions. If permission is declined, those online features remain disabled while local filtering continues.

PUBLIC DATA UPDATES
The extension may retrieve newer public brand datasets and retailer configuration. These requests do not include the page being visited or personal lists. The bundled offline dataset remains available if an update cannot be retrieved.
