What this extension sends, and where.

This extension reports one thing: the host name of the website in the tab you are
looking at — for example github.com. It sends that to the here capture application
running on your own computer, over the browser's native messaging channel.

It does not send anything to us, or to any website, or to any server. Its only
correspondent is the application on your own machine. If that application is not
installed or is not running, the extension reports nothing anywhere.

What it does not send.

• Not the rest of the address: not the path, not the query string, not the fragment.
  If you are on example.com/patients/4182?name=..., what leaves the browser is
  example.com and nothing more.
• Not the contents of any page. The extension has no permission to read page content,
  so this is a limit your browser enforces rather than a promise we are asking you to
  take on trust.
• Not what you type, click, or select.
• Nothing at all from a private browsing window.

Why it needs this.

A web browser is a single application as far as your operating system is concerned, so
every website inside it looks identical from the outside. Without this extension, the
here capture application cannot tell one site from another — which means a rule you set
like "never capture my bank" cannot be enforced. Telling it which site is in front is
what makes that rule real.

What happens to the host name afterwards.

Once the host name reaches the application on your computer, it is subject to that
application's own rules and to the choices you made on its consent screen — including
whether the Websites signal is switched on at all. The application is part of the HERE
platform and is covered by the platform privacy policy at
https://hereandmore.com/privacy.

Your control.

• Removing the extension stops this at the source, immediately and completely.
• Switching Websites off in the here capture application makes it discard anything the
  extension reports, without removing the extension.

Accounts, tracking and third parties.

The extension has no account and no login. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics,
contains no third-party code, and shares nothing with anyone.
