Gwynfor Evans von welsh_gold

A persona of the Welsh hero Gwynfor Evans. He was the first Member of Parliament to represent Plaid Cymru (The Party of Wales) at Westminster. Gwynfor Evans threatened to starve himself to death when Margaret Thatcher reconsidered a government commitment to set up S4C (a Welsh television channel) in 1980. It provoked a rare u-turn from the ‘Iron Lady’.
