I like it! Makes it much easier to figure out what stuff to add in userChrome.css rather than using scratchpad.
While this add-on is useful for identifying elements that (AFAIK) DOM Inspector can't, it was almost useless for me because the resize button would only make the foxyDetective_panel pop-up wider, not higher, making the text unreadable. I was able to find a fix for this (find its id in the DOM Inspector via Inspector Widget and manually change the height there), but wondering whether it would be helpful to add preferred size as a preference. Furthermore, some people might find explanations for the color-coding (e.g., text surrounded by a blue box is the element's id, surrounded by a yellow box is the label, etc.) to be helpful.
Hi! Thanks to your suggestion, the next version (0.2.8) will now include tooltips to explain what the colored borders are (id, label, etc.). :) As for the resize grabber issue, not sure what is the cause. Another possible fix is to move the foxyDetective_panel pop-up to a different part of the screen and close the panel. Get it to appear again and the resize grabber will work again.
I've always wanted to be able to inspect popups and menu items more quickly and easily and now I can.
Thanks for developing this very cool add-on.
This is very useful and works perfectly. Thanks!
