With FFx 17ESR, Cookie Monster Version 1.1.0 is OK, 1.2.0 does not work Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Using Firefox 17.0.11 ESR

Cookie monster version 1.1.0 works okay

Cookie monster version 1.2.0 does not work:
the toolbar button does not display a menu when clicked.
(could be a conflict with Vertical Toolbar extension since my Cookie monster button is installed in my Vertical Toolbar)

Nice extension, without problems.

The best for me still Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

I will still continue to use you Mr. Monster like I've been for years. Thankfully, it is still working after all these updates, including FF29. This is seriously one of the most important extensions snce cookie management is critical for any one that wants some privacy on random sites. I just didn't like the other extensions like this one. It has exactly what I need - except for importing and exporting cookies and a master cookie decision file. :-)

Still working Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Used CM for a long time. Now on Fx 28. Still no problems.

That's not a Cookie Monster issue. It's the CCleaner preference to clean "site preferences" for Firefox - possibly other browsers. Uncheck that for Fx, Tbird, )other browsers?).

Site preferences are the same as exceptions (regarding cookies). The same thing would happen to anyone that checked to have Fx clean preferences at shut down, under Options > Privacy.

Works good, although the description says " It works best for users who do NOT accept cookies by default, although this is not necessary. " which is an absolute lie. This will not work in the slightest and will not block a single cookie unless you set firefox to block all by default. Period.

Works well, very detailed cookie control Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Easily change cookie exceptions, view cookies, lots of option, works! Little too much detail & controls for me, I'll stick with self-destructing cookies that just deletes all of a tab's cookies when the tab's closed, but if you want to view and control cookies then Cookie Monster is for you.

I can't change permissions for local files so if I want to do local development I need to disable the add-on. A fix or an item menu to temporary disable Cookie Monster would make my life much easier.

Almost perfect. Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

The only issue I have is every time I run CCleaner I lose the preferences for what sites are Allowed/Denied/Session.
If I had a workaround for that it would be a 5 star program.

Works great. Addon integratation (in the location bar) makes it easy to change cookie-policies on-the-fly - on a domain/sub-domain etc. base.

An improvement I'd like to see Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

I've been using Cookie Monster for a number of years now and generally speaking, it does the job it was designed for.

But I'd like to see the addition of a database to record cookie settings made for different sites because if the user resets Firefox for any reason, it wipes all that data clean. So having reinstalled the add-on after performing a reset last night, I now have to choose which cookie settings I allow for every site I visit all over again.

I looked in the folder called "Old Firefox Data" which a reset saves to the desktop, but couldn't find anything in there which would reinstate my previous cookie settings per site.

Perhaps the developer could oblige by creating a backup file which will be updated automatically and which can be reinstalled if a FF reset is required?

Not working on my non-English language system Bewertet mit 2 von 5 Sternen

This addon has a problem:

On non-English setups, some database file or so gets corrupted after a while.

Result: Web sites you gave temporary permission to set cookies will still have that permission even after restarting your browser. That kind of defeats the purpose of this add-on, no?
You could just as well give them permanent permission to set cookies in the first place. The effect is the same as having temporary permission forever across restarts and reboots.

The developer has known about this bug for a year or so. Unfortunately, he hasn't had the time yet to fix this. I'm not sure this add-on is still under active development.

The only workaround for now is to flush all your permissions on exiting Firefox. But that also deletes the permanent ones you wanted to keep. These you'll have to reallow every time you visit the sites, again. And in the long run, this get very tiring. Zero comfort.

I dearly hope this gets fixed eventually. I don't expect it to though. Too bad. I liked this add-on a lot when it worked.

NoScript for Cookies Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Nearly perfect. If only it could detect and control Flash and HTML5 cookies.

And essential addon for all users! I would only suggest one extra option - the ability (say under View Cookies menu) to delete all "session-only" cookies with a single click. The same as restarting FF... but without having to restart FF. That would be awesome!

It works well, but I have a feature request Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

I would like to be able to block / allow cookies based on their name or content and not just domain.

Specifically I want to block cookies from any domain that have the following names :

_utma
_utmb
_utmc
_utmz

Ctrl+Shift+M Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Works great, but I can't find a way, not even in about:config, to turn off the association with Ctrl+Shift+M (which I prefer to bring up Firefox's built-in Responsive Design View). Double clicking on the Cookie Monster icon in the Add-on bar is sufficient accessibility to Cookie Monster's functionality for me. I don't want that repeated with an un-turn-off-able Ctrl+Shift+M association. So I hope the developer can change this.

Great! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Contrary to what PR-Imagery (below) says, it works very well, and I have never been unable to log into sites after enabling all (session) cookies for a site.

Be sure to click on "Cookie Access => Site Level" too to see whether you don't have any sub-domain cookies blocked, as those can still prevent you from logging in.

The menu could be clearer, because, after a month, I know perfectly how to use it, even though I *still* don't understand some of the things the menus say, and I find that I have to go through several submenus every time.

I still don't understand what "use 2nd level domain names" does. What are those? And how do you mean "use"?

The icons are confusing. Only the devil icon makes sense; the others I find impossible to remember even after a month.

Horrible Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternen

A lot of sites it refuses to accept cookies from - meaning I can no longer login to save site preferences for many sites. To make matters even worse, disabling or removing Cookie Monster, still disallows sites where the extension will fail to allow - these are sites that worked perfectly fine before installing it.

Garbage.

In Linux, this mod does not seem to block cookies. While it is compatible, It does need some improvement in this area.

On my windows machines, it's always in my security bundle that I push out.
