Features request:
1. Do not use "storage-sync.sqlite" file to save search engines, please save them in a file in your extension's folder "...\profile\browser-extension-data\olivier.debroqueville@gmail.com".
2. Allow the use of variables so next searches to work:
a) Search selection In current Page (ex: https://www.google.com/search?q={searchTerms}+site:{variable for "doc.location.hostname"}
b) Translate Current Page in ENGLISH (ex: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&u=+{variable for "doc.location.href"})
c) Open link in Google Docs Viewer (ex: https://docs.google.com/viewer?hl=en&embedded=true&chrome=true&url={variable for document link})

geschrieben am vor 6 JahrenHi! Sorry for the late reply.
At the bottom of the extension's preferences page, you will see a header titled "Add a new search engine". To add a search engine, you need to fill in the line right below that header.
- if the first checkbox is checked then the search engine will appear in the context menu;
- to the right of the above checkbox is a textbox where you need to specify the name you want to give your search engine;
- followed by a keyword which you will be able to use in the address bar (i.e. omnibox). The way this works is that, in the url address bar, you start by typing "cs " (for Context Search) followed by the keyword you chose for the search engine you want to use (e.g. "ddg " for DuckDuckGo) followed by the search terms. So, if I want to search DuckDuckGo for "SpaceX", then I can type "cs ddg SpaceX" in the url address bar and hit enter;
- followed by a another checkbox which specifies if you'd like to use the added search engine to your set of multi-tab searches. What does this mean? Well, when you're using the context search list mode (i.e. not the icon grid), then you may have noticed that there's an item named "Multiple tabs search". When you click on that menu item it will open a new window with multiple tabs, where each tab will contain the search results of a search engine that has been checked using this checkbox. To summarize how to use Multi-tab search: you first check all the checkboxes (in the 4th column) that correspond to the search engines that you want to include to perform multiple searches in one go. Then, you click on the "Save Preferences" button and now you can use the "Multiple tabs search" from the context menu;
- in the last textbox on the line, you enter the search query string for the search engine you'd like to use. Here, you have the option to use %s or {searchTerms} in your search query string when the search terms are not located at the end of the url.
Once you have entered the above information, you can test whether it is valid and working properly by clicking on the "Test Search Engine" button. When you're satisfied, you can finally click on the "Add Search Engine" button.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions. - Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternenvon Ricardo Simões, vor 6 JahrenEsta extensão acelerou o meu ritmo de trabalho imenso ao permitir-me personalizar os meus motores de busca em modo de menu de contexto

But just one question: why new tabs are open right next to the active one?
It will be a good thing if you could provide an option to choose the place where new tab will be opened: right next to the active tab or after all the tabs in a row.
And one another thing: maybe you can provide an option to switch off the loading of the icons when it's in a list mode.Antwort des Entwicklers
geschrieben am vor 6 Jahren1) The way it works today was actually implemented following a request of one of our users! Originally, it worked by loading the tab on the far right.
2) We'll be adding an option to switch favicons off for the context menu list in the next release. - Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternenvon Sean Ryan, vor 6 JahrenVery useful extension - thanks! A few questions:
1) Is there any chance you could automatically trim leading/trailing spaces from the selected text before passing the search terms in the associated URL? When you double-click text, Firefox always includes the trailing space and when that is passed on to the website, the required page is not loaded e.g https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/%s I've noticed that most websites themselves do the trimming, but the one above doesn't hence I'm asking for a helping hand from your extension!
2) I've noticed that whenever the Context Search sub-menu appears there's a short (tiny) delay after the menu text shows before the icons for each entry shows. Is there an opportunity here for a performance improvement in the extension, or is this actually Firefox behaviour?
3) The help text says "Right-clicking on a text area inside a web page without previously selecting some text will highlight the word under the mouse pointer". However, this doesn't happen: I've tried a number of websites and if you haven't selected text, then "Context Search" is not listed on the context menu when you right-click. I'm not hassled by this because I always double-click words, so just thought I'd let you know.
Thanks again for your hard-work - the extension out-of-the-box is great.Antwort des Entwicklers

Thanks again!Antwort des Entwicklers
geschrieben am vor 6 JahrenHi. Thanks for your review. You usually can look at the generated URL when you do a manual search. For example, on https://www.urbandictionary.com/ when I type in "fandom", I'm redirected to https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fandom. Drop "fandom" from the URL. The URL that remains can be added in Context Search (https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=).
Should you have any further problems, feel free to open an issue at https://github.com/odebroqueville/contextSearch/
