AttendX Privacy Policy

AttendX calculates attendance targets using the numbers already shown to you on your EduPlus Campus page (subjects, present/absent counts, etc). All of that calculation happens on your own device, inside your browser. Your attendance numbers, subject names, marks, or anything else on the page never leave your computer and are never sent to me or anyone else.

The only thing AttendX sends anywhere is a small anonymous check-in, once a day, so I can see roughly how many people are using the extension and whether it's still working after campus website updates. This check-in contains three things only:

• a random ID that's generated on your device the first time you install the extension (just a random string, not connected to your name, student ID, email, or anything personal)
• the version number of the extension you have installed
• the subdomain of the campus site you're using it on (for example, college.edupluscampus.com), so I know which campuses are actually using it

That's it. No names, no marks, no attendance numbers, no student ID, no browsing history, nothing else from the page is read or sent.

You're asked for consent the first time you install the extension, and you can turn this check-in off completely from the extension's settings at any point. If you turn it off, nothing is sent after that.

The data goes to a server I run myself, and isn't shared or sold to anyone else.

AttendX only needs access to edupluscampus.com pages (to read the attendance numbers already visible to you and do the math), local storage (to remember your settings and the random ID mentioned above), and permission to run the daily check-in described above.
