Fixed bug which caused "ghost" icons to be left if sites have favicon urls which are invalid.
Changed backwards/forwards in recent tabs history key command to:
back: ctrl + shift + 1 (cmd + shift + 1 for Mac)
forward: ctrl + shift + 2 (cmd + shift + 1 for Mac)
Note: Mozilla key commands API is still under development, so it is not yet possible to keep commands from overriding defaults, even if action is optional. Hopefully this command will not conflict with any other commands.
Made progress on private window support, though still not completely functional. ("recent" menu does not work, no persistence when changing modes)
Removed "privacy" permission from manifest
Note: Acknowledging ATH does not work in private windows, will hopefully fix that soon.
Added option to change width of the browserAction popup
Scroll to selected tab on open alltabs menu
All Tabs Helper can be accessed two ways, as before. By using a drop-down menu, or viewing in the sidebar. These are implemented a little differently however.
Drop-down: Rather than clicking on the "All tabs" button as before, you will now need to click on the All Tabs Helper toolbar button (The "A" icon) for the menu to appear.
Sidebar: Select All Tabs Helper in View > Sidebar.
What To Expect
The new phase of All Tabs Helper will have some noticeable changes in features and implementation. Some are intentional , Some are a result of differences in the way WebExtensions implements UI, some are held up by the current unavailability of an API to support them , and some will probably never be implemented due to the fact that mozilla does not intend on providing APIs that would support the features desired.
With this incarnation of ATH, I plan to keep things simple. Hence I will not be implementing many of the custom conveniences I have in the past. I may not even implement some features even if APIs eventually are provided to support them. You may notice the options page strikingly stark. Key commands are pretty much non-existent. I will not bother to list what other conveniences or features will be missing.
There are plans to **possibly** implement the following familiar features if APIs become available:
Open new tab next to current: An API has been approved, although it is new and may take some time to be developed. See Mozilla bug 1344749 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1344749). In the meantime I have for now included a clumsy implementation of this feature which can be enabled in the options page.
Unload tab(s): The API for this and thus the feature should be available in FF 58. Note that this feature only works on multi-process tabs. See Mozilla bug 1322485 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1322485).
Search tabs content: The API for this should be available in FF 57. This feature is currently available in ATH though in a very experimental state. Expect bugs (from ATH, not FF), particularly if searching complex pages with frames. The API for this does not presently include searching PDFs. Maybe improvements will come in the future, maybe not. This feature is after all, outside the scope mentioned in .
Search mode: Displaying/hiding of search results of a tab is sometimes quirky.
Search mode: Content find in tabs with complex pages and frames is not always complete.
Dups mode: Not refined yet - may show dups which aren't actually.
Alltabs mode: Filtering not refined yet.
The following issues are mainly only manifested when using ATH in the sidebar:
"Loading" icon on menuitems sometimes does not get cleared properly.
Title on menuitems sometimes do not get updated properly.
When focus has been taken away from the menu, the first click on a menu item is sometimes ineffective.
New Features Which Were Not Available in Legacy ATH
Tabs can be moved by selecting them, then hovering over another place in the menu (Use context menu - "Move selected tabs here")
Tabs can be moved to another window by selecting them, "recording" them using context menu, then hovering menu in another window ("Move recorded tabs here")
Tabs can be moved from recent menu by selecting "Show remaining tabs in 'recent' menu" in options.
Of course tabs can be moved by dragging as always.
NOTE TO NIGHTLY USERS:
While I have been working on a WebExtensions version of ATH, it appears
questionable if it will be complete enough to replace ATH legacy version
before legacy addons will be made obsolete in FirefoxNightly 57.
However, IIUC, there will be a switch in about:addons to continue running
causing the ends to be truncated (thus hiding close buttons) instead
of truncating the label only. (User will notice that an ellipse will
now appear on overflow text.)
when opening new tab using key command.
Re-instated "shift begins select" when no other items are selected in menu.
Renamed selected_hash to selected_weakMap in panel.
User may now bulk select items using the 'shift' key. Also, multi-tab
moves may be performed within search results. These operations are
possible as long as 'content' search is not included.
Added sound icon support - items in menus will now display sound icon (speaker)
corresponding to tabs. Clicking on the icon will toggle audio muting
just as is done on tabs.
Changes since the last stable version:
Reworked "display searchbox in all menus" option introduced in the last
update in attempt to give a better and more intuitive user experience.
The option is now called "Show searchbox in 'alltabs' menu". In this
mode the user stays in the alltabs menu when searches are performed,
instead of switching to "search" menu as in previous update.
This includes the addition of the option to choose which
titles/urls/content filtering mode to use which can be independent of
"search" menu's filtering mode.
See Options > General > "Show searchbox in 'alltabs' menu" and related
Also fixed bug which, when in this mode, caused ATH menu to steal focus
when a tab was opened or closed.
Reworked UI appearance to achieve more effecient use of space in menus and
allow more text to be visible. To save space, the current tab pointer has
also been eliminated and the current tab is indicated by bolder and
slighly larger text.
Refactored Options window to give a more intuitive outlay with new
options resulting from recent updates.
Added hidden preference which disables the display of the info window
when ATH has been updated. In about:config ...
Set to `true` if you do not want to see version alerts.
NOTE: I highly recommend not to disable version alerts, and furthermore
to read the information that is in there. I find many users who miss out
on new features or have trouble after an update simply because they didn't
read the new information.
Preferences > Appearance > Sidebar. Typing in searchbox will
automatically switch to search mode.
For sidebar UI, Added option to choose buttons for menu mode selection
(like that used in "List all tabs" drop-down UI) or familiar combobox.
This option can be selected in Options > Appearance > Sidebar.
NOTE: Buttons for mode selection is now the default. Those who wish to
continue using the combobox will need to select it in Options window.
Fixed assorted bugs in backend.
mode. User can toggle this option by opening context menu and checking/
unchecking "close menu on tab select" item. Note that this only applies
to "List all tabs" mode, and will have no effect when using sidebar mode.
Firefox compatibility upgrade, using SidebarUI API instead of
Firefox compatibility upgrade, removed access to obsolete FUEL Library.
Compatibility update for Tab Mix Plus affecting behavior with
TMP's protected tabs.

Open ATH in sidebar
Options > General
Pale Moon specific:
Added option to change "List all tabs" button behavior to open the
traditional drop-down menu rather than displaying the tabs as graphics.
This allows the ATH menu to be opened by clicking the "List all tabs"
button, which is the default in traditional Firefox setups.
This sets/unsets the "browser.allTabs.previews" preference.
Pale Moon specific:
Changed the implementation of keyboard command opening of ATH in
"List all tabs" position so it would still work if "List all tabs" button
is set to display tabs as graphics.
