OVERVIEW
AliFind is a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox that helps you search for
products on AliExpress using images. We are committed to protecting your privacy
and being transparent about how data is handled.

DATA WE PROCESS
When you use AliFind, the following data is processed to perform your search:
- Images you provide (uploaded, pasted, screenshotted, or right-clicked) are sent
to our server to search the AliExpress product catalog and compute visual
similarity rankings.
- Search keywords you optionally enter are sent alongside the image to refine
results.
- Your selected country and currency preferences are stored locally in your
browser using the extension storage API and sent with search requests to show
relevant prices and shipping.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
To provide search and ranking functionality, your image data is processed by:
- AliExpress API (aliexpress.com), to find matching products by image
- Jina AI API (jina.ai), to compute visual similarity embeddings for ranking
- Admitad API (admitad.com), to generate affiliate links when you click a product
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data.

DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT
- We do not store your images on our servers after processing your search request.
- We do not collect personal information, browsing history, or analytics.
- We do not use cookies or tracking pixels.
- We do not sell or share any data with third parties beyond what is necessary to
perform the search.

LOCAL STORAGE
AliFind stores your preferred country and currency locally in your browser. That
data is never sent to us except as search parameters.

AFFILIATE LINKS
Product links in search results are affiliate links through the Admitad network.
If you click a product and make a purchase on AliExpress, we may earn a small
commission at no additional cost to you. This is how AliFind is funded.

PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED
- activeTab: to capture screenshots when you use the screenshot search feature
- scripting: to inject the screenshot selection overlay on the current page
- contextMenus: to add "Search this image" to the right-click menu
- storage: to save your country and currency preferences locally
- Host permissions: to fetch images from any website for search. On Firefox this
access is requested separately, and AliFind asks for it with a one-click prompt.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any change will be reflected
on this page with an updated date.
