The extension performs local image processing only. It does not upload images, use remote servers, require host permissions, or collect user data. The submitted package uses Manifest V3 and declares no extension permissions or host permissions.
Supported formats include JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, GIF, and APNG. The extension supports batch processing and configurable download behavior, including ZIP export for batches.
For animated GIF/APNG files, the extension includes an explicit safety flow. Animated files are detected before cleaning; the default action is to skip the file, while the user may explicitly choose to flatten the animation into a static image.
To test the extension:
1. Open the extension popup.
2. Upload one or more supported image files.
3. Review the detected metadata and local processing progress.
4. Complete the cleaning operation and verify the generated files.
5. Open Settings to test auto-download and batch export preferences.
All processing is performed locally within the extension. No external network service is required for core functionality.
