Used to be great, now it puts a massive QR code on every single downloaded video and wants $30 to "register the conversion feature" even when downloading without conversion. Would not recommend, uninstalling and will use something else going forward; it's less convenient and universal but it's preferable to shareware that doesn't inform you that you're using a trial version and must pay for full functionality until you've already sat through a lengthy wait.

    Worked great until 1/22/25. Now YT doesn't activate the plugin and I can't download anything. I trued old versions and they are doing the same thing so I think it could be a new countermeasure from YT?

    it stopped detecting any and all videos on Youtube.
    Prior to that, it was very good.
    It does detect non-Youtube videos.

    Briefly, VDH is easiest and most bug-free of all the many video downloaders I've used. Also it works with the widest range of websites so far. I rarely leave reviews but this is actually a good app in a sea of dodgey ones.

    Doesn't work on Youtube. Unacceptable.
    And for most of the websites where it works, it requires an extra app which you have to download externally. ABSOLUTELY unacceptable.
    No idea where the positive reviews come from.
