useful for "human web-spidering" (extensive use of links for reading the web of internet) Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček
it's a necessity to not lose track of the path taken while web-browsing, I like it! the concept can be further implemented and expanded for further navigation assistance and self-managed tracking, I would happy to use this further help. Intensive navigation is different when using this, otherwise you might not notice nor catch the usefulness of it. Thanks!
spyware installer DONT USE Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček
installed this nothing else that day. went to sleep soon after, wake up, browser is slow. installed loads of spyware and viruses. had keyloggers, homepage highjackers. installed 10 different spyware, and some viruses. installed a proxy and my internet was slow, then my homepage was highjacked. i looked it up and it said it had a add remove programs uninstaller. i thoguth well i didnt ask for that but it has an uninstaller. it uninstalled just like spyware does, asks you to verify by typing in some code. i didnt ask for it to be installed. then nothing shows up, it just disappears from the add/remove programs menu. and i seen a proxy sometrhing installed. i tried uninstalling it after that was done running, and it said error removing, want to remove from list, so i did. and it did. then my internet was faster but, my homepage stayed highjacked, my searches i was able to fix before from the search bar, keep reading if y8ou want, lots of problems i had here, the search bar when i changed it, before it worked fright until i restartted the browsers, ALSO i ll show how i got it fixed, at least maybe cause who KNOWS really right?, this time when i restarted, i changed the search bar and it kept rehijacking it, none of the searrches I done on it used the one I put.
i had to go to a search page to do searches, and when i used the search bar to search for malewarebytes, it loaded up a lot of links to google home page for results, and had yahoo printed across the page along with the search bar enhancer logo.
screw this piece of crap and the guy who made it both. i installed nothing else for days my computer worked fine before, i installed this then shortly went to bed.
this program barely does what it says it will do anyway. didnt work fully like i thought. when i woke up my internet connection was barely running, and it slowly started hijacking my homepage, and my search bar, and results. until my computer was almost took over.
I used malewarebytes to remove the stuff. Still i dont know if it was the virus or malewarebytes my comptuer almost didnt want to boot up after it restarted so im not for sure if im done with this crap yet.
by the way the reason i write such a long review, is because ive spent alkmost an hour uninstalling this so far, and i use an ssd hardrive, scans proobably go faster than a normal mechanical hdd.
Don't believe it
I'm going to be generous and treat this is a genuine report and not a ridiculous bunch of malicious nonsense or a joke, as it appears. (But I will still refute it.)
First of all, unlike many app stores, Mozilla Add-ons has human reviewers who check all add-ons before approving them as "fully reviewed". Although not impossible, it is very difficult to get such blatant malware as you described to pass the process. As such, downloading fully reviewed add-ons from this site is pretty safe.
Furthermore, Mozilla has for a while implemented extension signing. Extensions (the type of add-on this is) must be signed by Mozilla in order for recent versions of Firefox to allow them to operate. Currently, this can be turned off by users (future versions are planned to make it mandatory). This would allow third-party sites to install malicious add-ons, but then either you would have had to disable the check yourself, or some piece of malware (which could not include an add-on) had to have disabled it. Or you're just using an out-of-date Firefox. In either case, if you had some other malware on your system, it could have done everything you describe, without needing a Firefox add-on to install its stuff.
It's also not impossible that AMO could have been cracked and malware inserted in place of legitimate add-ons. But shouldn't there have been some sort of alert about it? I haven't heard anything.
As for how well it works, I'm sorry, but I have not developed this for a long time, so it's quite out of date. I intended to update it, but it's not a high priority for me. It's fine to not use it for this reason, or because you just don't think it's great overall.

Excellent. Very useful. So many times I have lost my current session history by going back to where I started from. This solves the problem.
To test this:
- Make a search on http://www.google.com (eg: Firefox vs Chrome)
- Go to the first result
- Go back to Google by pressing the back button
- Go to the 2nd result
- Go to a link from that 2nd result
- Now go back twice back to Google
- Right-click on the forward button. You will now see the first result that you had visited.
Without this add-on, you will not have been able to go back to the first result if you had forgotten which result you had clicked on the first time.
The browser's back and fwd buttons would remember the session since you went to the 2nd result.
This is a simple example, but the benefits add up when you go back and forth multiple times.
My suggestion for improvements: Do not count a revisit to any of the sessions pages from your add-on as a new session by adding a new line on top. It does correctly get added to the tree of the previous session, but new lines get added on top. Basically, things get messed up when you use the add-on to go back and forth and don't work exactly as expected.
Warning: Blanks ALL TABS when uninstalled Ohodnoceno 3 z 5 hvězdiček
OK found how to use this now (hold or right click back/fwd buttons when you have visited links on in tab) and am testing functionality and will update review accordingly. For now three stars as default for good idea and other reviews.
However the issue should be warned about:
When uninstalled/removed ALL TABS AND TABS IN TABGROUPS are set to About:Blank with no way to restore. I lost about 150 open Tabs due to this. Not happy but perhaps fix it or warn users in some way (to backup sessionretore.js or use Session Manager).
- Refreshing the tabs does not get them back & disabling this extension did not bring my tab content back either.
- The bugzilla you mentioned about this #651033 has been resolved/fixed but the problem still occurs.
I am glad to provide anything dev needs to fix this or if this is incorrect use of review system I will adjust.

not what it says Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček
does not work as advertised. only provides a button to "clear session history" in view/toolbar/customize.
The add-on "Tab History Menu" does a better job of what this add-on purports doing.
Sorry. When I developed this, I made the unwarranted assumption that everyone already knew that right-clicking on the forward and back buttons brings up a menu where you can jump around in the history.
I had hoped that those who didn't know about it could look at the first screenshot and see where the menu is. But clearly it's not enough.
Well, it's a confusing interface, anyway. You might try version 2.0b. Yes, it's a beta. Look at the main add-on page, under Development Channel. This version adds a sidebar (which does have built-in instructions, BTW). Just be aware that you might not get automatic release updates for it until you install a release version.
Bit of a familiarisation curve, but very awesome Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček
It is a little hard to figure. Namely what constitutes a "sibling" or a branch off point. Admittedly though for me the confusion is more try to visually recognize/mentally parse the individual webpage titles to get an idea of where I want to go back to.With that said being able to have that broader scope or history of where I was and what that cool page was is fantastic. ;)Tato recenze je pro předchozí verzi doplňku (1.0.1-signed.1-signed).
No clear instructions but promising Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček
It took me 25 minutes to figure out what this does. There are no clear instructions at the download site. You need to hold down the forward or back buttons at the upper left corner. Your history for the tab appears and, if there's a subtree, there will be an icon to the right of one or more of the entries. If you cursor over it, you can see the subtree and maybe another subtree. If there are no subtrees, you see the normal history list.
It's a neat enough idea. The app has some promise, and I will have to tell over time whether it's useful to me. It works.
This isn't the first time I've found an app and couldn't tell how to use it. App developers need to give users better guidance. If I wasn't patient, I would have tossed this 20 minutes ago and given it a 1 star rating.

Awesome! Really nice idea, this will help me a lot from now. So many pages, texts or rationales I've lost because of some wrong clicks or forgetting of things in which I was working... I will download on every PC I use from now. :)Tato recenze je pro předchozí verzi doplňku (1.0.1-signed.1-signed).
Nice Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček
Very useful add-on, nice work !
I'd like to add an idea: make this add-on include session history from all FF windows and tabs and still be available in same one place of every window (back, forward buttons). Sorry for my english :(
An interesting idea. I'm not sure how practical it is, though. We'll see.
Almost what I was looking for: Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček
I feel this concept is a HUGE step in the right direction with regards to navigation and the ability to effectively use browsing time, prompting me to come looking for an add-on to accomplish a mesh-style history. However, I am anxiously awaiting the UI improvements you state are in production. I am hoping you have considered a hotkey-based overlay with a thumbnail or Icon/Title based visual tree (If this is at all within the client's capability). I will be following this Add-on closely and will do my best to actively promote it when I feel it presents this concept in a truly convincing manner. Thanks for your hard work so far.Tato recenze je pro předchozí verzi doplňku (1.0.1-signed.1-signed).
Issue found Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček
There is an issue with this add-on - on Firefox restart last session's
tabs are restored but in blank state - we need to refresh them
manually. Not all tabs are blank, but most of them are. I checked it
on FF12, with Session History (tried both 1.0 and 2.01b) as the only
installed add-on and 145 restored tabs from the previous session
(collected in a few tab groups). Disabling the add-on eliminates the

This is an issue in Mozilla code. Please see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=651033
You may consider voting for that bug (a Bugzilla account is required), which can help the devs decide what bugs are important. But follow Bugzilla etiquette and don't comment unless you have genuinely new information to add.
I also documented it on my issue tracker at https://github.com/ddawson/Session-History-Tree/issues/3 over a year ago. Nothing I can do on my end unless I can figure out how to do what I need to in some completely different way.
Not to seem rude, but there was really no reason to report this here, since the issue is documented, and I even pointed it out in the developer's comments, which you can read on the add-on's main page.
does what it says Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček
It works exactly as it says and it help with the biggest design problem in modern browsers, the back button's inability to deal with multiple forward-and-back navigation. I've habituated working around this with tabs but I'm trying to get into this new style.Tato recenze je pro předchozí verzi doplňku (1.0.1-signed.1-signed).
misleading Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček
this addon clears your sessions, it does not manage them.Tato recenze je pro předchozí verzi doplňku (1.0.1-signed.1-signed).
You seem not to have understood the description, screenshots, etc. (it might be partly my fault for not making it clear enough). The current version makes use of the obscure back/forward button context menu; in other words, you have to right-click on one of those buttons to access it. The "Clear session history tree" function was provided just in case the tree gets corrupted, and does not clear session history itself.
Also, a new version is in the works that provides a more user-friendly interface, in the form of a sidebar. If you'd like to take a look, see the "Development Channel" section at the bottom of this add-on's description page. You can then access the sidebar under View > Tools, or set up a keyboard shortcut in the add-on options.
