Doesn't seem to work for me Ohodnoceno 3 z 5 hvězdiček

Task Manager shows consistently 1,300 MB and greater. Clear Caches does not release any memory.

You Can't Be Too Clean So RAMBack Ohodnoceno 3 z 5 hvězdiček

This addon would be great, but it has one downfall. There is no way to tell if it has actually cleared anything. There should be some popup that appears (with a setting for how long it shows on the screen) to make it more user friendly.

Dramatically reduces cache Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

All those other cache clearing add-ons at best have a negligible effect - this considerably reduces cache immediately.

It's especially helpful if a window with many tabs is always open. I use Google Books as reference, which consumes a huge amount of memory (over 1.6GB). When my referencing is finished for the day I hit Clear Caches and around 45% of memory is reclaimed - I can then slum it on the web with a smooth-functioning browser.

Tools > Clear Caches

how do you use this thing? Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček

there seems to be no interface and it doesnt make any difference in my system that is worth while. that along with the terible lack of information involving how it works or what kind of results to expect make this extension pretty much worthless.

RAMBack works just great ! Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Before I have installed RAMBack, I had often hangs of Firefox due to big RAM consumption (approx. 500 MB). After RAMBack installation, now Firefox take only 280 MB and works fluently! :-)

Works. Not very well documented, though Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček

It does what it claims to.
Why the developer didn't simply add "Go to Tools and then click on Clear Caches" to the About this Add-on section of the add-on page is beyond me. Seems like most of the negative reviews are from people that didn't know where to look and it could all be made better with that simple note.

RAMBack DOES NOT WORK! Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček

And if you read some of the reviews, the developer is pretty rude, as well.
Too bad you can't give it 'No Stars' because that's what it deserves! In fact, I have a feeling the memory usage will go down a good amount once I remove it. =/
LMFAO!

Освобождает около 8% используемой Firefox'ом памяти Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček

Can not find where to use Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček

Simply does not work. Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček

I wanted to like this plugin, I really did. Everyone except for the Firefox development team is aware of the horrible memory leaks in Firefox, so the idea of a quick fix button was great.

Except, you know, the button doesn't do anything at all.

Maybe it's because I'm on a Mac, but watching the memory usage of Firefox in Activity Monitor shows little to no change when using Ramback. I tried letting it sit, I tried pressing the button... alas, nothing worked.

Well, that's not true. Closing Firefox worked. And it's possible that deleting Firefox and going with a different browser would work too, but I digress...

In any case, good idea, poor execution.

Works! Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Use the menu bar, tools->clear caches. See a huge drop in RAM usage. Thank you for this add-on.

Fixed Firefox consuming gigabytes of RAM Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Firefox would consume 2 gigabytes or more of RAM before I found this fantastic add on. Firefox would slow down to a crawl if I were on a video page and I'd watch the RAM usage climb.
RAM would be used up regardless of whether I was using HTML5 media player or Flash to watch videos. It was absolutely terrible dealing with Firefox slowing down to a snails pace.

Now, I have 4-5 tabs open and watching a youtube video. RAM usage is under 360k although I saw it go as high as 402k before it dropped to around 360k again.

Testing still going well. I watched a long video and noticed RAM climb to 500k. Ten seconds after closing the Firefox tab, RAM went back down to 360k. Before using RAMBack, I had to totally close Firefox, wait nearly a minute before RAM was released. Thank you RAMBack for making my day!

Not User Friendly! Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček

What I mean by that is not all of us are 20 something computer wizards, and need a bit more clarification on how this works. Since Mozilla uses it as a link to help with Memory issues that are plaguing Windows 10. It would be nice to know if we need to or don't need to press a button or if it is internal. 1 star for lazy description of product.

Very helpful Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Having almost given up using Firefox because of increased RAM use since v42 taxing/overheating my laptop, I am very pleased with RAMBack for reducing per-tab use from over 100M per tab down now to about 60M per tab. Good work!

Does absolutely nothing Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček

It does not force FF to release memory when tabs are closed. Documentation on its use is non-existent. No mention of the "Clear Cache" option installed in the Tools drop-down menu, which does nothing more than the "Minimize memory usage" button in about:memory. A totally useless addon.

Very good! Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Works very well. My memory used to go as high as 1,500,00, and now RAMback keeps releasing memory after closing tabs and it is around 650,000. It works in the background, the user doesn't need to do anything. If you want to watch it work, bring up Windows Task Manager and watch firefox memory before installing and after installing. Watch how the memory goes up after opening tabs, and how it is released after closing tabs. Firefox did not do that before installing RAMback. I am using Flash Control addon for stopping flash. Do not use "Youtube Flash Player" addon with "Flashblock" addon, it seems to make things worse.

BROKEN! Ohodnoceno 1 z 5 hvězdiček

Negative 1000 stars. I put this add on in and instantly over 100 new tabs opened up WTH? !@# Piece of crap, stay away.

Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Whilst it didn't reduce it to something magnificently small, it did reduce my memory usage when using about 6 tabs from 700,000k to 265,000-300,000k. Definitely better!

wow it really works :)
