Could be much better. Ohodnoceno 3 z 5 hvězdiček

An add-on that is constricting. Could be improved by letting the user freely edit the list of Blocked sites, password protecting the same. Also, a toolbar button should be optional.

last update 2011. so R.I.P. I guess... Mozilla should have added something like this instead of creating all the nonsence bloat that they keep adding these days...

Excellent add-on, but really need to turn off or drop the "block this" button... I mean, I close the tab, someone comes in, we start using the computer and he/she sees the block this button and ask what is it... kinda "raises some flags" I think.

It would very helpful to be able to see the black-listed sites. In a way, this partially defeats the purpose of hiding where you go. Perhaps the feature could be password protected?

Great! a must-have

Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Great, thank you.

Great application. However i was wondering if a mode could be added that blocks websites from history, but keeps their cookies?

Ohodnoceno 3 z 5 hvězdiček

I'm really missing some options window, where I can see / manage all blocked domains. Maybe there could also be an option to show / hide the "Block this!" entry. If needed, the list could be protected by password, so not everyone can see or change.

Misbehaviour for some scenarios Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček

It seems the addon get confused for some scenarios:

1) I have blocked "mail.google.com" by accessing Gmail and using the "Block This!" context menu option. That alone works great.
2) Apparently, other *.google.com domais also got blocked. Tested with translate.google.com and docs.google.com. They don't show on Recently Closed Tabs nor History.

Also, I have tested this scneario with others sub-domains (a.xpto.com, b.xpto.com) with same results.

My Privacy Is No Longer A Chore Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček

Forget the hassle of "Private Browsing Mode" hiding your non-private tabs when you turn it on. Most of the time, HistoryBlock is even better than Chrome's Incognito Window.

All it takes is just take a few minutes, once, to play around with your AwesomeBar, find all the sites that might leave incriminating traces, and then you can sit back and browse without worrying about whether you remembered to switch to Private.

HistoryBlock is "always use private browsing mode" on a per-site basis, in effect if not in implementation. It's not perfect yet (It won't prevent dirty search keywords from showing up in the form field memory and it won't tell Flash that you're in private mode) but it's very close.

Good idea, but we need to be able to SEE the black and whitelists. Else how can we remember which sites we have blocked?

Nice, but enhancement proposed Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček

Nice, but a bit too strong for my usage, and without return. I've blacklisted sites like google that fill my history, but it filter out the cookies too... same for gmail, and other mails.
maybe you could put a mode where there is trace of the filtered_out sites, and especially cookies.
another mode could be the "training mode" where you whitelist all sites used during it is active...

I'll also add another demand : to have a "unblock this" button if a site is blocked (or anyway). also have a block all domain (if navigation on maps.google.com, would block or unblock all google.com)

last is blocking IP ranges...

so here is my proposal summarized :
- have a "learning mode" to unblock all that you do when the mode is active
- have a "trace mode" that list history and cookies blocked
- have a unblock-this menu/button
- have a "unblock/block all domain" to block/unblock base domain (google.com instead of just maps.google.com)
- have IP grange blocking/unblocking

anyway, already very nice.

Not working with FF13. This is one of my most essential add-ons please fix it.

Edit:
OK so I rolled back to FF12 and then upgraded back to FF13 and now it seems to work fine.

Re: Not working with FF13

I have FF13 and it is working fine.

Well done. Maybe no-restart version?

This extension is what i look for.
Very thanks.

perfect for hiding those pesky porn websites from your history

Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Absolutely great extension. I have one request however:

It would be great to be able to block keywords. For example if I entered "hockey" as a blocked keyword, then all pages with "hockey" in the title would be left out of the history.
