so handy Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

This is the addon that finally made me create an account that's how good it is, I could have saved so many hours of my life if I found this a couple years ago just negating save prompts alone. THANK YOU

Request for more functionality or companion addon Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

This add-on lets you customize the 'Save Image As' context menu. I have it set to do so when I right-click an image and scroll my mousewheel down this addon 'saves image now', bypassing the 'where do you want to save this file?' popup window completely.

I have 'save link as' mapped to right-click and mousewheel up, but it always launches the 'where do you want to save this file?' window. Could you write a companion addon 'context menu link saver', or add the functonality to this addon?

Quick Save! Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Quick save via context menu, it has the features like save without save as dialog, auto rename if the same file name exist & ability to add highly customizable context menu items. To only feature I would ask for is middle mouse click to save images.

Any option to convert the image type ? Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Is there a option to save the image to a different format type other than the original version of image ?

So Great Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

This is an excellent add-on that works perfectly. It is, in it's own way, as major as 'downthemall!' It has already saved me an incredible amount of time. A tool for doing single, one at a time image downloads, and sorting them on the fly. It fixes one of the things I've always felt was lacking in Firefox. That is that it is difficult to change the download location often, and reliably. Here is the solution.
I have just been reading some of the add-on developer tutorials and now I have an idea of just how much work must have gone into something like this.
I have 70 add-ons installed and this is one of the top 5 in importance and usefuless.
It is so great, that it makes the tedious job of saving image files 1 at a time feel like fun!

Great Add-On! Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček

Thank you choobin!

Very nice contribution. Thank you very much indeed for your time. I previously used SIF, SI, DI II and "Image Toolbar". Now, I started using CMIS. It has a better thinking behind it, compared to others.

I would like to report one possible bug and make 4 suggestions for your consideration. I know that there are many requests. I hope you can have time to code for these. I don't know how to code. Otherwise I would try to help. Sorry...

The Bug:

After creating a "Submenu" and several "Item"s, i need to click on "Up" button for "Item"s to make them "Submenu Item" of the "Submenu". I don't know if this method was your intention at first place or not but this is a little bit confusing. There must be a better way of assigning an "Item" to a "Submenu" as a "Submenu Item".

The Suggestions

1. I strongly suggest a toolbar which appears when you hoover the image (this toolbar was implemented in -now obsolete- "Image Toolbar" add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/image-toolbar/ ).
1.1. Toolbar will appear for a few seconds when hoovering. and then disappear even though you keep hoovering.
1.2. Toolbar must be a small thing not a giant context-menu-like thing.
1.3. User can turn the toolbar feature on and off.
1.4. Toolbar should convey one or more buttons.
1.5.1. If you have time; you can let user decide how many buttons there will be.
1.5.2. Default button is "Save".
1.5.2. There may be other buttons like "Save to <Item>" or "Show Image" and "Open Saved Folder".
1.5.3. Four (max 5) buttons are enough I think.
1.6. Save button, which is the default button, will do the job of Ctrl+RMB
1.7. If you still have time, you can let user to move the place of the buttons on the toolbar (left or right to each other) just like moving the "Item"s up and down on the context menu. (this nuance will make your add-on more chic and more cool)

2. For renaming the files, clipboard also should be available as -for example- %CB.

3. For renaming the files, there must be "#" wildcard, hyphen-minus and space characters. for example:

"Equus ferus %CB - ####"

Then, if I copy "caballus" to clipboard and keep saving images into related "Item" the images will be saved as folows (say they are jpeg):

Equus ferus caballus - 0001.jpg
Equus ferus caballus - 0002.jpg
Equus ferus caballus - 0003.jpg
Equus ferus caballus - 0004.jpg
Equus ferus caballus - 0009.jpg
Equus ferus caballus - 0010.jpg
Equus ferus caballus - 0011.jpg

4. While using "#" wildcard or maybe in general, if there is a numbered item already, it should increment (say there is already Equus ferus caballus - 0012.jpg in the folder):

Equus ferus caballus - 0012.jpg (this was already in the folder)
Equus ferus caballus - 0013.jpg (our 12th file got the number 13 instead of 12 by incrementing itself)

This (4th) nuance will make your add-on a robust one.

These are my suggestions. I hope they make sense and hope you can have time to implement them.

Thank you already...

P.S: sorry for bad English.

Thanks for the insightful feedback.

The bug you mentioned has been addressed (see: https://github.com/choobin/cmis/issues/16) and will be live in the next release (coming very soon).

I have opened issues for your suggestions. They are all great ideas. Thank you. If you would like to continue to provide feedback with these features please see the following pages.

Thanks again.

Ctrl-Click at last ! Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Same here, coming from "save image in folder", this extension have almost all of what was possible with save image in folder, and more : fast save with Ctrl - Right Clic is a must (clearly the one feature from Opera that I was missing). One request though : would it be possible to still display the file saving dialog, for some folders only ? (in order to rename the saved file).

EDIT : Thanks, I've just tried it, and it's almost perfect (ticket opened). Concerning Opera, Ctrl-LMB to save image is native, and had been like this for as long as I remember it (which is more than 10 years...)

nerbrume! Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I was really happy with Ctrl-RMB too. I did not know that is comes from Opera, could you elaborate? Is it from an Opera extension?

Regarding adding customized Save Image As... dialogs. You are in luck. This is already in the pipeline.

An issue has been created: https://github.com/choobin/cmis/issues/8

I am just about to push the update to github. After /a lot/ more testing I will update the AMO version.

If you would like to try it out early please refer to the following page: https://github.com/choobin/cmis/wiki/How-to-test-the-latest-update-from-github.

Great Add-on! Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Great add-on which streamlines saving images to specific folders. One issue to note is that the prefix: '%DATE' does not save files with a time stamp, it literally saves with '%DATE...

UPDATE: Thanks to the prompt (and very thoughtful!) response from choobin, I managed to install the latest build (unreleased) and I must say it is simply wonderful! This add-on allows you to save images to specific folders within directory trees and even enables you to customize the labeling in the context menu. For me, the icing on the cake is the time-stamp prefix which eliminates the hassle of manually typing a custom title. Kudos to choobin for his fantastic effort!

G'day RK77,

Tthe %DATE/%ALT variables have not made it to the release version. I plan to submit it in the next few fays. If you would like to test the latest build (including %DATE/%ALT) check the following page.

WoW!!! I just discovered this program after the developer of "Save image in Folder" dragged his feet in supporting his own program to run in FF18. This program "Context Menu Image Saver" is a far superior program. It's easy to use and the developer clearly is actively engaged in supporting it! Thank you so much for your hard work and great offering here.

Works great! Ohodnoceno 5 z 5 hvězdiček

Glad it works perfectly in Firefox 18. Kudos!

Can you please add the following (if possible)?

- for a selected folder, add option to "open" the folder for the user to navigate to saving into a sub-folder. For example, I have a folder path called "Animals", and sub-folders (cats, dogs, bats, horses, etc). I don't want to make a folder path for each sub-folder as I have 20+ in some for art reference.

- An option to edit/create a folder path from the context-menu

- A way for us to export/import our paths for backup reasons (just in case).

- Add a status bar message (just to show it was saved).

G'day Kevin,

Thanks for the Feedback. I am glad that you find the extension useful. I think all of your suggestions are feasible. I have created new issues for them so I keep them fresh in my memory. If you would like to provide further input and/or check on their progress take a look at the following pages.
