Astonished this add-on isn't more popular. I guess people must like the Microsoft versions limiting their undoes and keeping track of their every move (especially those times when you want to quit out of the game because you've got to go and do something else, and you have to tell the program, yes, you *are* sure you want to quit, and then watch the wretched programme add the game to your list of defeats...I know, I know - my analyst says I'm still making progress in this area of anger management). Anyway, for me, this is the best patience compilation I've ever used: no bells and whistles, unlimited undoes, helpful hints, and a great way to learn new games of patience (my favourite's Mod 3). BTW, I've learned to play a couple of games without a help file just by clicking 'hint' and working it out from there (e.g. Russian Solitaire). Great work - many thanks!

This extension works with firefox 3 if you download the xpi separately and install it using mr tech toolkit that let's you bypass the version check. Also if you want a button, you can make it load on a tab by adding this bookmark to your bookmark toolbar chrome://cards/content/cards.xul

I made it work on firefox 3 beta, by downloading the xpi and installing it bypassing the version check (mr tech toolkit) and it worked just fine! I would miss this extension too much.

Great add on (since my company removed the games from my computer.) How about adding high scores?

Excellent game add-on Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček

With there being hardly any game add-ons to Firefox this excellent program fills a wonderful need. I have been enjoying the games and learning new ones. BUT I am disappointed that it doesn't work with 3.0 beta. PLEASE can you make it compatible? I will miss the games!

no lock-up problems here Ohodnoceno 4 z 5 hvězdiček

This extension is relatively lightweight, easy-o-use, and pretty much WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get).

I have not found any lock-up problems as noted in another review, could it be a collision with another particular extension?

For the computer user who wants a few minutes of a break without loading up new programs or surrendering vast amounts of screen real estate, this is the ticket. I have been using it for several years and have experienced no problems (although a bit more in the "help, how do you play this one?" category might be nice.

If you are happy with the generic solitaire that's part of windows, good for you!

If you want a comprehensive practical and historical guide to hundreds of Solitaire (patience) games, you probably can find that somewhere.

But if you would like a few minutes of stress-releasing fun you can quickly start or finish, with a variety of patience games from which to pick, this is it. Right here. Cards.

I have to admit, I grew up in a home with inadequate solitaire diversity. We pretty much played the same old game time after time. There was a two-player version, but it got a bit aggressive, so it was pretty much the choice of one.

That one is here, along with an interesting lot of housemates. One of my current faves is the aforementioned "Wasp". (I'm a bit too timid to look for what it's title might mean. . .) I find this game easy to win, but I get great satisfaction from moving entire stacks of cards around with one mouse click. Probably a result of some childhood deficiency--perhaps an inadequate level of patience game variety.

I am finding that different games fit my moods. I play primarily when waiting for a group of files to download, for some disk optimization or entire disk scanner, etc.

By the way, I was recently reading through Tolstoy's War and Peace. I don't know quite why it struck me, but it seems just about everyone in that book plays patience at one point or other: The old Countess, all the Rostov children, Several soldiers awaiting yet another wait in their tents, Pierre (who tried to use it to decide whether he should marry Natasha (he disregarded the results, and that disregard was a move that cost many people dearly!) Even the stern old Count played a game or two when no one was watching and when he wasn't up to keeping his spartan regimen.

I'm sure you will find your own unmet patience needs, and fill them. Just be sure and set a timer when you start, if you have anything important to do later in the day!

Good but some problems Ohodnoceno 2 z 5 hvězdiček

Good set of games of Patience ...

... but some of them randomly lock up Firefox (eg. Russian Solitaire & Wasp).
