Name Changer od Shizu

Name Changer is a lightweight browser extension that lets you replace character names on any webpage with names of your choosing. It was built with fanfic readers in mind — especially on sites like AO3 — but works on any website.
What it does
You create simple rules that map an original name to a replacement. For example, swap "Lan" for "Hiro" and every instance on the page updates instantly. Rules can be set per-site (only active on a specific website) or globally (active everywhere). Local rules always take priority over global ones, so you can override a global rule for a specific site without deleting it.
The extension also handles capitalisation automatically. If the original name appears as "LAN", "Lan", or "lan", the replacement will match that same casing — so your reading experience stays natural. You can also control how ALL-CAPS "shout" versions of a name are handled: title case, all uppercase, or all lowercase.
What it does not do

It does not collect, store, or transmit any data. All your rules are saved locally in your browser's storage and never leave your device.
It does not track your browsing activity, the sites you visit, or what you read.
It does not modify any page other than swapping the text you explicitly tell it to swap.
It does not touch input fields, text areas, code blocks, or script elements — only readable page content.
It does not require an account, login, or internet connection to function.
It does not inject ads or modify page layout in any way.
It does not run on pages where you haven't set any rules.

Privacy
This extension collects no data whatsoever. Your name rules are stored using your browser's built-in sync storage and are never sent to any external server.
