ToneQuilla

Does not work with any of our company computers Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This add-on requires you to buy a sound card for your computers. It doesn't even support the built-in speakers. Thus completely worthless.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.0).

Line Marker

Updated LineMarker Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hello Piro,
thanks for developing this useful marker, I think the best one available. It features permanent highlighting while still respecting users privacy, and the colors even are fully customizable (RDF file in the FF profile, using CSS).

As another add-on developer I hope you continue working on it....
However, for now I made it compatible with at least FF 5 and 6, also fixed quite many issues, e.g. forgetting highlights on FF restart.
My updated LineMarker version is available here: http://netticat.ath.cx/MyAddons/MyAddons.htm#3rdpartyaddons

MAFIAAFire Redirector

5 stars for fighting against Internet censorship and for Mozilla keeps standing strong against the DHS. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I analyzed the source code of this add-on and indeed it still redirects to http://www.mafiaafire.com/help_us.php? every 15 redirects,
BUT this page now is empty and immediately re-redirects to the original target, thus you no longer see any help request.

the relevant add-on code:
var quickFilter_100_count_redirect_url='http://www.mafiaafire.com/help_us.php';
if(qucikFilterRedirectCount % 15 == 0)
{
window.content.location.href = quickFilter_100_count_redirect_url+"?d="+mafiaafireFilterUrl;
}
else
{

window.content.location.href = mafiaafireFilterUrl;
}

At least the bad rating from written by TK below is obviously done by DHS or CIA. Users info refers to a page which obviously is one of the faked blogs set up by the CIA or similar instution - accordingly to newspapers the CIA is known to use fake blogs, fake twitter accounts etc. as propaganda tools to distribute spin.

NoFace

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I really appreciate every add-on that takes care of our privacy, especially I welcome this as an option to block the new Internet plagues like facebook, twitter and similar which put their large scripts on almost every web-page, not only massively slowing down those pages, but also tracking everything you do. I personally do not use this add-on, but created some own adblock-plus rules which effectively do the same thing, and even much more. Nevertheless I hope the author keeps up the good work on this add-on in order to support blocking of more social spy sites. Thank you.

Menu Editor

Firefox 4 and TabMixPlus compatible version available Rated 5 out of 5 stars

on a page of my web-site: http://netticat.ath.cx/MyAddons/MyAddons.htm#3rdpartyaddons.
A completely new version is in work too.
I am developer here on AMO and fixed MenuEditor to be compatible with the latest Firefox.

Searchbar Autocomplete Order

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

hello cska133,

the redirection could be caused by your user-agent setting which probably contains the string MSIE. Sorry, but usually those visitors of my pages are spam robots.
Thank you for the suggested formfill configuration! It does exactly what I need.

I also tried miscellaneous settings to exclude suggestions not starting with typed letters, but had no success. Anyway, I found that setting boundaryWeight to e.g. 100 (while bucketSize is set to default) will prefer suggestions starting with typed letters. Those suggestions then are placed on top of the list.

The Searchbar Autocomplete Order add-on indeed only shows suggestions beginning with typed letters. But it even excludes multi-word suggestions where the matching word is not at first position: e.g. if you type co, it will not(!) match "about config" but it would match "config about".

However, Searchbar Autocomplete Order no longer works with Firefox 4, they completely rewrote the suggestions code and I think it's a quite big deal to update the override code of the Searchbar Autocomplete Order add-on.

Print Edit

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very useful if you frequently print web pages.
If you have AIOS installed you should use Print Edit minimum version 3.1b (contact the author) in order to avoid conflicts.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0).

Tab History

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The beta version works perfectly for me on Firefox 3.6.12
When I middle click on the back button, a new tab opens with the previous page, providing the history of the parent tab. Works as advertised.

Searchbar Autocomplete Order

Update: Compatible version available Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on is still needed since adjusting the about:config formfill preferences cannot provide a really consistent sort order: Most recent: first or last, alphabetically. For example I would need most recent first, meaning sorted consistent by time.

A Firefox compatible version of Searchbar Autocomplete Order is available here (scroll down to the very bottom): http://netticat.ath.cx/MyAddons/MyAddons.htm
I am also developer on AMO (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/516763/)

Alternatively the current sort algorithm is configurable with the preferences browser.formfill. and works as follows (from https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/Namoroka/Improved_form_history):

Frecency Calculation:
a = timesUsed
b = lastUsed - firstUsed
c = lastUsed multiple
d = agedBonus (for entries that have survived expiration)
frecency = a/b * c * d

Configuration:
* browser.formfill.
o agedWeight - multiply the score by this value for entries that have
survived expiration
o boundaryWeight - how much weight (in %) to add to word boundary matches
o bucketSize - range of relevancy values to group together and sort
alphabetically
o maxTimeGroupings - maximum number of timeGroupingSize units to give a bonus
to
o prefixWeight - multiply the score by this value for exact prefix matches
o timeGroupingSize - number of seconds in a time container

Copy and Go

I fixed the CopyAndGo add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For those who are interested, Version 1.5 is available for installation on a site of my homepage. http://netticat.ath.cx/MyAddons/MyAddons.htm#3rdpartyaddons
Scroll to the bottom and you should see Copy and Go 1.5 along with some other 3rd party add-ons.

Copy and Go 1.5 is an improved version. In most cases you don't even need to mark the plain text URL, just right-click it and click CopyAndGo! This version also supports copied URL's from other applications, that means it can work like PasteAndGo.

I am add-on developer here - maintaining my own own extensions on AMO

HistoryBlock

Warning: Deletes your passwords Rated 1 out of 5 stars

For every history blocked site your passwords are deleted too - without any warning!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.5).

SiteDelta

Too many false positives and other issues Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I tested the current version and the beta version from the author's homepage.

Both versions notify about updated pages but most times there are no (visible) changes - nothing gets highlighted. Thus you are unable to exclude those unimportant areas.
The UpdateScanner feature "Ignore changes of less than xx characters" would be helpful here but unfortunately is missing.

SiteDelta still lacks of a "Mark changes as seen for all pages" - button.

If you open a updated page on notification you still need to choose 'Highlight changes' from the status-bar menu what is annoying. Sure, the addon provides an option called 'Highlight changes on page visit' which always works, but sometimes you might want to visit the page without highlighting which is impossible without opening the addon options again.

I tested notification sounds 'Beep' and 'System alert' on a Windows XP machine, both failed with SiteDelta, but are working for other applications. No errors logged in js-console.

Summary:
SiteDelta promises a lot of nice features (especially the include/exclude region options, however I was unable to test them all), but the basic functions still need some work. Until then I am going back to the UpdateScanner addon which currently works best for me.

To the developer: Viel Erfolg!

CAUTION:
If you compare this addon with the UpdateScanner addon you should have one of both disabled!!
Otherwise you get a 'Unresponsive script warning' (SiteDeltaService.js:1040) as soon as you choose 'ShowChangesInNewTab' from UpdateScanner. Most likely caused by UpdateScanner's very large data: URL's which are known to cause such issues.

Highlighter

A version working with Firefox 3.6 and higher is available here, at the bottom of the site:

Sticky Notes

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This works better than every other Sticky-Notes addon here. Especially it does not forget the notes when tabs are switched as it sometimes happens with a similar addon.

However there are some bugs:
1. If the browser is restarted the notes will not be shown. You explicitly need to reload the pages.
2. Sometimes the notes get unmovable and you cannot close them, for example on this page if a note is placed at the height of the "Add-ons for Firefox Firefox" - header. Then it is below of the header which is an a (href) tag.

I fixed those bugs as well as some other problems. The fixed version is available here, at the bottom of the page:
http://netticat.ath.cx/MyAddons/MyAddons.htm
Thank you for creating this.

Copy Link Text

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This keeps me from copying text from input boxes. It was useful before the latest update, now it is annoying.

Going back to the COLT extension.
