Maybe i'm blaming an apple for not being an orange, but... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I wanted to be able to edit html pages for later viewing, not printing. For that purpose it's a dead loss. It can't do that, or GUI hides/complexifies the task, or needs extra explanation.
Certainly the text selection is an unergonomic confusing mess. I tried the simple basic task of selecting a paragraph and selecting it. Didn't get to square one. Whatever it does or doesn't do, the selection is *not* simple click > drag > click to select an area.
Whatever the truth of the matter, it is a nerdy little applet.

Later, re the developers reaction- ok, so Print Edit wasn't meant to be a fully functional HTML editor. Fair enough. But what is [seriously]? I could sure one. As to usability, "Print Edit is easy to use". Sorry, i must smile.
I think Microsh*t has conditioned us all to levels of complexity [and unreliability, tho not with this extension] that many of us are so nerdy we honestly think that we're not nerdy at all.
Anyway, this nerdy apple isn't the non-nerdy orange i'd hoped it was, so i upped my rating. :) Fair enough?

Wrongly identified fruit gets blame ....

The primary purpose of Print Edit is to allow you to edit a web page prior to printing, in order to remove unwanted content such as adverts, sidebars and blank pages, which saves on printer paper and ink cartridges. Print Edit is not meant to be a precise or fully functional HTML editor.

Print Edit is simple to use, although the Format Properties are intended for more advanced users. Perhaps you should try following the steps in the Getting Started section of the add-ons homepage: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/print-edit/

Print Edit solves a real problem for many users. Nerdy? No!

At last I have the print preview button on my toolbar. And print edit is just an added bonus. Thank you.

Almost all print pages get edited now. Why waste ink and pages on unneeded page elements?

I especially like the detailed instructions you posted here. I've used this for a couple of years and still found things I had no idea it could do.

This is one of the very few add-ons that will keep me with FF.

Constantly uses CPU Rated 2 out of 5 stars

The extension functionality is really great and I like it very much. However, I've discovered that it causes a permanent 2-3% increase in CPU usage of the firefox process, even when I have _no_ web pages open and the browser is completely idle. When this extension is disabled, the CPU usage is 0-0.5%. When this extension is enabled, the CPU usage is 2.5-3.5% *constantly*. (Verified on several computers, different browser profiles, Firefox 29 + Fedora 20). The extensions polls something all the time. That prevents the CPU from going idle and decreases notebook battery endurance. This fact really drags this extension down. I hope developers fix this in the future.

Additional CPU load is minimal

When Print Edit is not being used for editing, the additional CPU load should be absolutely minimal. Testing on Windows 8 shows that when Firefox is idle it consumes less than 0.02% CPU, whether or not Print Edit is installed. The situation may be different with Fedora, but it seems unlikely.

Print Edit is a superb essential must-have for any person. However, a shortcut to directly print from the editing screen should be added (maybe next to the preview button?).

Dié resensie is oor 'n vorige weergawe van dié byvoeging (12.5).

Use Ctrl+P to print directly from edit window

This is not really necessary, since you can use Ctrl+P anywhere in Firefox (including the Print Edit editing window) to open the Print dialog.

Print Edit 12.2 Superb and Essential Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Print Edit is a superb add-on. I use it to edit layouts, print save bill payments or on-line purchase confirmations including same when receiving e-mail confirmations. Perfect for getting rid of excess 'bling' saving tons of ink and paper. Honestly I had not realized/noticed there was a pdf button in the ui for v12.1 until today when i got the "Error ENPE-1'. Upgrading to v12.2 repaired the error. PrintEdits pdf conversion not functioning is ok with me as I use GhostGum GSView5.0 for that purpose.
PrintEdit is a must-have add-on in my opinion. Thank you DW -dev for providing this exceptional utility. Yes, 5 stars because, as stated above, I use an external program for pdf conversion.

Save PDF feature works on latest Firefox versions

Just to clarify, the Save PDF feature works with all versions of Firefox on Windows XP and Linux, and with Firefox 3.6 or Firefox 28.0 (or later) on Windows Vista/7/8.

Normally, the Save PDF feature does not work with Firefox 4.0- 27.0 on Windows Vista/7/8, due to bugs in Firefox and graphics drivers. However, this feature will work if the 'Enable for Firefox 4-27 on Windows Vista/7/8' setting is ticked and if Firefox is run in Windows XP compatibility mode or with hardware acceleration disabled.

The Save PDF feature is not available on Mac OS X.

This add-on brings a little bit of sanity to printing web pages, not something I have to do often thankfully, but I can't believe how badly browsers do it by default.

No Edit for multiple webpages Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I previously used printwhatyoulike.com to edit and add multiple pages at once, and then print it as pdf.

It's a useful features when you want to make a pdf out of multiple pages, that's what most people do, and not make a pdf out of a single page..

For instance I was reading the java tutorial: http://www.javatpoint.com/java-tutorial

and decided to make a pdf for the tutorial by adding new pages from the left side bar.....It was possible in printwhatyoulike.com to add, edit multiple pages applying the same format across multiple pages...

Please make this feature available in your add-on. It would be very useful..:D

Awesome. The UI could be a bit simpler especially when it comes to multiselecting and undoing.

How could user interface be simpler?

Please could you explain how the user interface could be made simpler for selecting multiple elements and undoing previous edit commands.

At present, multiple elements are selected either one after another by clicking on each element, or all together using the draggable capture area. Previous edit commands can be undone either one at a time by clicking on the Undo button, or all together by clicking on the Undo All button.

Excellent, with a few small caveats Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on is indispensable, end of story. If I couldn't control what I print from the Web, I just wouldn't print it at all. Print Edit does a miraculous job... most of the time. Given the complexity of Web pages these days, it's hardly surprising that 100% print control should remain an elusive goal.

One thing I wish could be improved is pagination. I'd like to insert manual page breaks - and remove ones that are inserted for no obvious reason. (Like when the page title ends up alone on the first page.) I suppose this may be difficult to accomplish... but it definitely is desirable.

I also wish I could use the new print to PDF feature! If I read the description correctly, it seems to support FF 3.6 and FF 28... but not FF 22, which is what I'm using. Given the turn for the idiotic that the FF UI has taken in recent releases, and the dearth of meaningful new features, it may be a while before I disrupt my life by attempting an 'upgrade' to versions 28+. How ironic that I'd apparently get more functionality from Print Edit if I had stuck with FF 3.6!

Nonetheless, I give Print Edit a wholehearted five stars for doing what it does.

Issues with Microsoft support pages under FF26 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great addon,I love it!
Unfortunately It neither displays nor prints http://support.microsoft.com/kb/ pages correctly, even with formatting. I tried everything I could do, unsuccessfully.I'm running the ver 11.1 under FF 26 and Win7 x64 home edition. Am I missing something of important or is this is an unresolved feature yet ?Thanks in advance

140128-update: I've found some workarounds for these pages: I print them under IE or I print the selection under Firefox native printing function. That's not perfect but it's satisfactory for documentation purposes.
Due to the fact that this add-on has not to handle Firefox bugs and that it is fully responding to the expectations, I modified the star rating accordingly and also removed the '"almost" .

Best regards

New 'Fix Pagination' feature in Version 11.2

This is not a bug in Print Edit. Print Edit uses Firefox's standard feature to print/preview pages. Unfortunately, there are long standing bugs in Firefox's print/preview feature which means that web pages containing large tables or fieldsets are not displayed correctly.

However, Print Edit 11.2 includes a new 'Fix Pagination' feature which can fix (workaround) these issues in many cases.

More information please .....

Unable to reproduce this problem.

Please can you provide more information about exactly how 'Text Pieces' and 'Web Style' buttons don't work:

- Is it when editing a web page for the first time?
- Is it when switching forwards and backwards between Edit mode and Preview mode?
- Is it when a saved edited web page is being re-edited?
- Are the buttons disabled (greyed out)?
- Does it happen every time you use Print Edit?
- Does it happen on all web pages?

Great add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If you need to print a page (or save it to PDF through a PDF printer) this will help you to remove any unwanted parts of it and format the rest to suit your needs.But... READ THE USER REFERENCE!
It would be even better if it allowed to set itens width/height instead of simply set them to "auto".
And why not add a "Donate" button? This is just too useful not to let someone thank you ;)
