New Tab Wallpapers by HP

New Tab of Firefox looks more stylized and fun instantly and permanently. It is easy, quick and free! No hassle required.

Addon button is next to around address bar which is colorful wheel, if you can not find it.

Options add-on provides:

Local Image

This is first tab where you can choose a local image as wallpaper. Local means your computer. At first time it is blank. You can choose an image from your computer. When you click over Choose Local Image, a File Picker window pops out and there you can choose an image. The image shall be big enough to fill your New Tab which serves better look. That is all. Image is now wallpaper and it is added instantly to New Tab and saved permanently. When you go and open New Tab, it will welcome you.

Web Image

This is second tab. Do not worry if you do not have any local image. Find a good wallpaper from Internet, copy URL, paste into textbox and press Assign as Wallpaper button. That is all. Image is now wallpaper and it is assigned instantly to New Tab and saved permanently. When you go and open a New Tab, it will welcome you.

Below is an example web image URL which you can copy and paste into that textbox. Do not forget to wait some time for Firefox to download image.

New Tab is about:newtab. If you do not know how to open that page copy about:newtab and paste in address bar to open.

Wallpaper Settings

Size

This options will edit size of wallpaper image. Sometimes wallpaper is too big to fit in New Tab but this Size options adjust image to fit in New Tab beautifully. Explanations are below. Choose one that best suit you by trying options. Do not worry about mistakes everything can be changed anytime with add-on.

Auto Auto = Choose normal dimensions of image to fit in content area.

Cover = Scale image to smallest size such that both its width and its height can fit inside content area

Contain = Scale image to largest size such that both its width and its height can fit inside content area

100% 100% = Sets height and width of image in percent of content area. first value sets width, second value sets height.

Position

This options will edit position of wallpaper image on page. Sometimes changing position of wallpaper creates beautiful effect if image is too big. Explanations are below. Choose one that best suit you by trying options. Do not worry about mistakes everything can be changed anytime with add-on.

Center = Specifies position of wallpaper image onto center of page.

Left Top = Specifies position of wallpaper image to Left Top of page.

Right Top = Specifies position of wallpaper image to Right Top of page.

Left Bottom = Specifies position of wallpaper image to Left Bottom of page.

Right Bottom = Specifies position of wallpaper image to Right Bottom of page.

Repeat

Sometimes wallpaper is small to fit in New Tab so you can tile wallpaper to create beautiful effect with this Repeat options. Choose one that best suit you by trying options. Do not worry about mistakes everything can be changed anytime with add-on.

No-Repeat = wallpaper image will not be repeated

Repeat = wallpaper image will be repeated both vertically and horizontally. This is default

Repeat-X = wallpaper image will be repeated only horizontally

Repeat-Y = wallpaper image will be repeated only vertically
