Default Zoom Level Not working. Waardering 3 van 5 sterren

The Default Zoom Level (%) function is not working, I have to manually set the zoom level for each website.

Please provide some more information ...

Please provide some more information. Which Zoom Mode are you using? Do you have to manually set the zoom level each time you open a new tab, or each time you load a new page?

The default (non-fit-to-width) zoom modes should work as follows ...

If the Zoom Mode option is set to Default (D/X), then whenever a new tab is opened the zoom level is set to the Default Zoom Level. If the zoom level is manually changed (e.g. using +/- buttons), then loading a new page in the same tab will not set the zoom level back to the Default Zoom Level.

If the Zoom Mode option is set to Default+Site-Specific (D/S), then whenever a new page is loaded the zoom level is set to the Default Zoom Level.

Can only give it 4 stars because it is missing some things. To get 5 stars add features that NoSquint has. Full and Text zoom simultaneously on sites and an exception list are the two main ones. Limiting zooming at the domain level is not always good enough. NS appears to be heading for the bit bucket.

Try using the Text Minimum Zoom Level option ...

Zoom Page has a feature to stop text being zoomed so small that it becomes unreadable. This feature works with both manual zoom and fit-to-width zoom, when the zoom type is full-page.

The feature is configured using the Text Minimum Zoom Level option in the Options dialog. The Text Minimum Zoom Level can also be quickly changed by Shift+Click on a zoom value in the Zoom Menu.

The site-specfic zoom modes provide similar capabilities to having an exception list. As you say, site-specific zoom is performed at the website level, rather than the individual page level, and this is not going to change.

The fix works perfect in 13.2.
That's an occasion for thanking the team for this nice piece of work. It's when they are missing that important things do feel important... !

Back to 100% on tab switching Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

As mentioned by the-trooper and Roland Spencer for some sites site-specific zoom settings are not remembered in version 13.1.
To reproduce: search for something in yandex.com and google.com. While results, that are opened from google.com do not revert zoom factor of google page, results on yandex go back to 100% zoom factor when opening any link.

Bug in version 13.1 Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

I'm also experiencing bugs where the site specific settings are not being remembered. It acts like the special tabs with the 100% setting set. Specifically, a website loads at 100% (even though it has been previously set to 133%) I increase the zoom to 133%, switch to another tab, and when I switch back it is back down to 100%. So it is probably related to the special tabs code added to version 13.1

for everyone else having problems you can go back to version 13.0 by clicking version information at the bottom of the page, then clicking the 'see complete version history' link. that will give you a page with all the previous versions to install.

Fixed in Version 13.2

This problem is fixed in Zoom Page 13.2. As you guessed, the problem was caused by the new option to apply 100% zoom to special pages. This option now works correctly and is initially disabled.

Dear developers, how do I download the previous version of your plugin? The latest version forgets its site-specific settings. Unfortunately, FF updated the plugin without keeping the backup and even notifying me. =(

Problem with font sizes Waardering 3 van 5 sterren

Today I found out, that this add-on caused my Firefox to have too large fonts everywhere, which is really sad, because I like the add-on. But as of now, even the smallest font is too large with this extension. It came a few months ago from one day to the other. Mean while I started a new Firefox, but today I gave it another shot and found out which extension caused all this :(

Please provide more information

It is difficult to understand what the problem is without some more detailed information. Zoom Pageonly zooms web page contents in accordance with the current settings (selected zoom level, full page or text only, etc) and the chosen options (zoom mode, zoom levels, etc) in the options dialog.

It is likely that you have accidentally selected a setting or option that is causing the text (fonts) to be zoomed larger than you want, for example:

- You may have Right-Clicked on the zoom percentage display, which switches into 'Text Only' zoom. To fix this, Right-click again on the zoom percentage display to switch back into 'Full Page' zoom.

- You may have Shift+Clicked have on a percentage zoom level on the drop-down zoom menu, which changes the Text Minimum Zoom Level used in 'Full Page' zoom. To fix this, Shift-Click on a smaller percentage on the drop-down zoom menu to reduce the Text Minimum Zoom Level. Note, the current Text Minimum Zoom Level is highlighted in red on the drop-down zoom menu.

- You may have selected a 'Fit-To-Width' zoom mode, instead of a 'Default' zoom mode. To fix this, move the mouse over the 'gear wheel' icon on the drop-down zoom menu, and then select the 'D/X' or 'D/S' zoom mode on the small popup menu.

Zoom Page 12.0 (for me) is no longer compatible with Firefox 34 and above Waardering 4 van 5 sterren

I have used Zoom Page 12.0 for a long time with various versions of Firefox up to Firefox 33.1.1 in Windows 7 with great success but when upgrading to Firefox 34 or 35 I had problems with the Zoom Page Button Style Option not initialising. The Zoom Page button was also missing completely from the Firefox customisation menu. Selecting any of the options in the drop down Button Style Option box would then cause Zoom Page to initialise and all web pages would then become unreadable in very large text which couldn’t be rectified.

According to the developer the most likely cause of this issue was the fact that in Firefox 33 and earlier, information about the buttons on the toolbars was stored in ‘localstore.rdf’. In Firefox 34, ‘localstore.rdf’ was replaced by ‘xulstore.json’. However I couldn’t understand this as in my profile both files localstore.rdf and xulstore.json are installed.

The developer considers my profile to be corrupt and has recommended establishing a new profile but I have pointed out that the same profile has been in regular use without any issues in all versions of Firefox up to version 33.1.1.

Unfortunately, in the circumstances I have found it necessary to abandon Zoom Page completely and install NoSquint 2.1.9 which has exactly the same text and page zoom facilities and works flawlessly with my current profile in Firefox 35.0.1.

Zoom Page has no issues running in my other Firefox derivative browsers, namely Pale Moon and IceDragon as both these browsers currently use versions of Firefox earlier than 33.1.1.

I should like to thank the Zoom Page developer for his help, it’s just unfortunate that the matter couldn’t be resolved without perhaps the major task of having to set up a new profile.
