Works since many years. And still does, despite bigger changes at the underlying browser system. And despite having a highly restricted system, which for example lets IPvFoo throw in the towel. IPvFox instead still works like a charm.

It is not working anymore in Firefox 53 beta. Didi I miss anything?

With multiprocess (e10s) activated and FireFox 51.0.1, icon in address bar doesn't even show up :(

Doesn't work if you're browsing via a socks proxy.

Doesn't work in Firefox 45.

This is a good app but I prefer SixOrNot, for a couple of reasons. Contrary to the description of this add-on, SixOrNot uses both the actual connections and DNS info to provide the most comprehensive information available. You can verify this in the SixOrNot panel that unlike the IPvFox Panel shows the number of connections to each domain and address. It also shows addresses you're not connected to, i.e. the IPv6 if your ISP, like Bright House Networks, has been too slow to adopt it since its release in 1998.

Two things that I like better in SixOrNot are the icons that I find are more visible and easy to read on large displays or if you don't have perfect vision. The other is that the icon can optionally be moved out of the address bar to another location.

As I said earlier, this is a good app, but I feel SixOrNot is a better choice for those wanting the more information it provides, easier to read icons, and/or customization options.

Ugh... that description has been out of date for years and I should've changed it long ago. I've done that now. When I wrote it, 4or6 wasn't a thing, SixOrNot was DNS only and ShowIP wasn't adware.

You can move IPvFox's icon out of the address bar too. There's a toolbar icon you can put wherever; the one in the address bar will hide itself if you do.

I have a thing in the works for DNS: https://i.imgur.com/CWThtKV.png. Soon™. Although it's a bit more buried than with SixOrNot.

absolutely one of the best addons ever.
why your new updates not support old vr of ff. i for some of addons use ff10.please update new code for sup this.
thanks again

It basically comes down to a) if old versions break, I won't notice (since I won't test against them) and I just won't care enough about them to fix the breakage anyway, b) I want to use new JS language and Firefox features.

I suppose both of these roughly boil down to laziness. Sorry.

For what it's worth, I think current versions (certainly up to 0.8.4) will actually work on Fx10 if you turn off version checking. The next version will need Fx24 though, and I may be forced to bump it even higher for e10s support in the future (but anything higher than 28 means Australis, which I don't really want to force people to use...)

Shows all the IPs (for all the elements) in a webpage, not just the domain of the url, but also where the images, videos and (hopefully) javascripts come from. Much more useful than other show IP add-ons. Draw backs are the ugly interface and (annoyingly) poor formatting if copy-pasted into text editor.

It gives you the IP but doesn't tell you the server location. Half the stars cause it only gives you half the info you want.

This add-on lacks only one thing; a log file of the content of the drop-down tab which is presently the only way IPvFox reveals the URLs and IP addresses which the add-on collects.

Admittedly, these URLs and IP addresses can be highlighted and copied to the Clipboard with Ctrl-C [No right-click context menu copying with my copy of Firefox 11]; however, this is avoidably tedious and the copied text then needs formatting to separate the data into two field records for sorting and de-duping.

If IPvFox pasted the URLs and IP addresses into a log file along with the URL showing in the address bar, that would be a great help if someone wanted to be picky about which third party remote hosts were to piggy-back on calls to intended websites.

To be honest, I don't feel very enthusiastic about implementing logging to a file, because it's not a feature I'd ever use myself (and as with everything, I suspect it wouldn't be quite as trivial as it sounds).

Copying from the panel is definitely pretty broken though. A context menu would make that much nicer, and a "copy all" entry (that formatted things properly) ought to be helpful for you too.

The description says: "Unlike related extensions ShowIP and SixOrNot, this shows the actual remote addresses for each connection, rather than a DNS lookup on the page's domain name."

But unfortunately, ShowIP is accurate in that it shows the IP address of the website you are visiting. While IPvFox on the other hand shows the IP address of the Proxy server you are using _not_ the website.

I'm filing it as a bug report as well, see below:

------------------------------------------------------------------
Proxy Server Getting Detected Instead

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install a local proxy
2. Setup your browser to use your proxy
3. Refresh/Visit a website

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The extension should be showing the IP addresses of the site. But instead, it is showing the local proxy's IP address.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.8.0

Please provide any additional information below.
none

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Other than that, the addon is great if you don't use a proxy of your own. Until it's updated, I'm giving the addon 3/5 stars. Once the new version is up, then that's a full 5/5 stars. (And I hope something can be done.)

Keep it up, you're almost there.

PS.
IPvFoo is also suffering from the same problem, I already filed it as a bug over there.

Questa recensione riguarda una versione precedente (0.7.1.1-signed.1-signed) del componente aggiuntivo.

It's the same situation as with IPvFoo -- Firefox makes the connection to the proxy server, so that's the "remote address for the connection", and the one that gets reported.

I'm not sure what I can do about it, since Firefox can't get at the IP the proxy used.

(If you want to respond, I'll be watching the IPvFoo bug report, and there's also a bug tracker for IPvFox at Github.)

This is a very useful addon, but it doesn't provide an option to move the number icon to any other place than in the location bar. Add that feature and I will give it five stars. *Edit* the author added the ability to move the number icon anywhere. Thanks:)
