Please make the addon also toggle dom.popup_maximum from 20 to 0, some popups are able to open even with the dom.popup_allowed_events cleared but when dom.popup_maximum is set to 0 also not a single popup is able to open. Modified main.js that toggles both:

If this gets implemented I'm going to change my review into 5 stars because then this plugin would be perfect. In the meantime I'm just gonna use my self-modified version.

for old firefox on old PC? :)

Two words: Well done! There are many sites which have irritating pop ups (the ones which open up when you click anywhere). Would be really great if you could implement a whitelist feature. Keep it simple and sweet.

It works perfectly Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

This is really a godsend since Adblock Plus and Adguard don't block most popup ads.

YHANK YOU Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Some really aggressive sites pop up a ton of spammy sites, even with adblock enabled. This has saved me.

Well Done Nikos, your plugin is awesome.

Does its job, buuut... Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles

It literally blocks EVERYTHING. I have to disable it to upload anything to any website I go to, and I'm not sure whether or not I want to uninstall it. It is indeed quite troublesome, and rather annoying at that. So whether or not you can handle the annoyance of disabling anytime you want to add a small picture to facebook, then that is your call.

It Works, and easy to toggle to disable it on some site, especially if you wanna upload something.

Works, but breaks file upload buttons in Firefox Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles

Works, but breaks file upload buttons in Firefox which is also a pop-up.

I first thought my Firefox was broken, so took a clean profile, did a Refresh and lost all my addons and settings. Still had the same problem, then disabling addons and finally it was this addon.

Much better than... Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

Much better than the old "Yes popups" add-on. Strict Pop-up Blocker is much faster and doesn't have a "weird" problem with some sites. Only wish you could toogle allow/block for individual sites via Strict Pop-up Blocker's icon.

This is great! Only issue, it blocks the file picker.

If anyone wants to define a blacklist, he/she must specify it in Firefox pop up blocking options itself. By default, Firefox is not set to block all kinds of pop ups on each event and what this great add-on does is to modify "about:config" options that are related to popups and to set blocking popups on every event.

Works fine, simple and effective.

Works PERFECTLY!!!! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Until now, even with both, the built-in Firefox popup bocker, AND AdBlocker Pop-up Addon, enabled, I would still get popups like usual, though there wouldn't be any content in them. Then after a second or four, it'd close automatically, and the the triggered it would then finish loading; it was a pain in the ass. NOW, however, that issue is finally gone, thanks to this lovely extension!

How does it work with ... Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Hello, your addon sounds good, but ...
Is it really useful when one has Adblock Plus + Adblock plus Pop-up Addon ?
This is not a critic ... of course, just a way to understand if really needed ...
Thanks for answering.

Blocks file attachments Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Great addon. However, the addon blocks legitimate file attachment windows from opening. Basically, any site that uses <input type="file" name="attachment"> to allow a user to select a file does not open.

Both this addon and Pop-up Controller have the same problem. Not sure if this is a Firefox 33 problem or not.

Sorry that this is a bug report. Didn't really know how else to contact you! I'll edit this once this is addressed.

This appears to be a Firefox bug:

I'll remove this review once the bug has been addressed in Firefox. Keeping this review here so people know about this bug.

This add-on doesn't replace the built-in Firefox pop-up blocker. It just provides a way to quickly toggle a preference that makes the built-in Firefox pop-up blocker to block all events that generate pop-up windows. As far as I know there is not a way to make the Firefox pop-up blocker to differentiate between pop-up windows that are generated by clicking on the page and <input type="file"> generated windows.

You can keep the default Firefox pop-up blocking behavior and use this add-on to toggle strict pop-up blocking only when needed. Or you can white-list the sites you want to generate pop-up windows (which probably is not ideal since you may have to white-list many sites).

Blocks pages that try to pop up in new windows/tabs. I don't bother with lists, I just click the button as need be. Easy as pie.

Very Usefull Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

This is much better than popup blockers with whitelists.
