Doesn't work with FF18 - just brings up Google.com and locks the input box. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1).
Does not work with FF18, it just opens up the Google Homepage and no results (even the input box is locked).
Has this been updated to work with FF18 ? All it does it take me to the Google homepage without performing the said image search.
I love that it replaces the original text at the press of a key, BUT, there seems no hotkey to revert to the original text ?
This is essential when using it for Japanese/Chinese, because the user needs to copy the original text to the clipboard to paste directly into Google Translate - which supports pinyin and romanji viewing.
It's a great Addon.
-The translation box needs to be floating, rather than immovable in the BR corner.
-The copy button should copy the ORIGINAL text to the clipboard, NOT the translated text - this is because Google often messes up Japanese/Chinese and as you don't support Romanji and Pinyin then the user needs to copy the original text to Google Translate directly so as to see the pinyin/romanji.
- Macro key options are limited to the F keys and A-Z (!)
Pathetic begging message ruins this otherwise great addon. Really, the begging message WILL annoy the f**k out of you CONSTANTLY.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.3). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Apparently FF18 changed as [quote from the Dev of a rival viewer); " Mozilla removed a key method in their API that...[is used].... to retrieve entries from the cache."This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9).
All it is is a proxy switcher AND it absolutely DOES NOT WORK IN CHINA. So if you are in China then don't waste your time.
I tried the PRO version too, this does not work in China either, it is blocked.
Translation via Google Translate
"The PNG image for the free service Gimage.TK"
It causes occasional (1 in 10 times or so) bulk uploads to vBulletin boards to fail - which is VERY annoying, but overall the addon is essential, and the annoyances are outweighed by it's massive usefulness.
No, really, it wasn't a bogus review, I really wanted to like this addon, but I couldn't find out what it did. I had another look at your pictures, does it load images in the sidebar ?? If so, I didn't check that.
ANYONE WHO WANTS TO TRY THE ADDON, PLEASE DO, MY COMMENT FROM FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF A PERSON WHO COULDN'T FOLLOW THE CLUES IN THE PICTURES.
FF is a greedy memory hogging MF, and this addon seems to help.
Don't forget to increase the default times between optimizing, because if you leave it at 0 or 1 min then it can interfere with websites loading - especially flash heavy ones, or one with movies like Youtube.
Not sure what the Blacklist is for ? Is it for sites you DON'T want MemoryFox to optimize ? That would be useful if it is.
Mozilla really needs to integrate this kind of thing into FF !!
I spent from v7 to v12 not knowing why spell checking whilst typing was not working - only to find out that it was now a sodding ADDON !!
No wonder people are going over to Chrome with design issues like this !
Awesome ! FF10.0.2This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3).
Follow UID's advice about removing version number limitation and it works with 10.0.2.
Doesn't look so pretty in XP as in Vista or 7, but still very nice.
No BACK button renders this browser impotent. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.8).
Bloody BRILLIANT !! TB 10.0.2 and XP64.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).
v2.1.702. Open a message and it just says "loading threadvis" and does nothing - forever.
RC on the 'loading....' message, and the formatting of the menu is shot to hell and also does nothing.
Pity. It looks great (for other people).
Doesn't work at all with FF10 beta, however the Dev seems to have a new version coming out soon, so high hopes for that.
In previous versions of FF it worked perfectly and is a wonderful addon.
I got the following error adding a vBulletin foum search box - Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [mozIStorageConnection.beginTransaction]Is it impossible to work with a site that requires you to be logged in ?Great idea anyway. Saves having to go through Mycroft to find search plugins.
There's a Wiki of the error message at http://helpful.knobs-dials.com/index.php/0x80004005_%28NS_ERROR_FAILURE%29_and_other_firefox_errors
