Very Good - Improvement Suggestions Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Since it has just been updated and improved, I thought I'd write a new review.
I like the changes made in the last update. Things I would still like to see:
- I know I'm in the minority but quite a lot of the time I end up running with about 150 tabs when researching, using this addon to prevent me balooning over 200. As such the Max Tabs icon will likely rarely not show '99+' for me. Why not allow it to go to '999+'?
- This does not bother me particularly, but I'm sure lots of people would like this addon to limit the number of windows open too.
- Some people are actually more worried about resources, or like flexibility to move tabs between windows without hitting a window of tabs-per-window limit. For them, a 'total number of tabs across all windows' option would be useful.
Thanks for developing this addon! :)
Does not work with the addon 'Classic Theme Restorer' Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Don't do what 'sparklark' did 9 reviews below - it undoes all your UI customisations.
Irritatingly I followed it and then spent ages finding out how to change everything back.
Also this addon appears to do weird things to the UI, like make the tab line and tab dropline list on the far right of the tab bar wider and taller per tab.
All I wanted to do was colour one or two tabs manually; I don't see why I need to use the horrible default Firefox theme in order for this addon to work. Simply colouring tabs should be very easy and simple to code and remain compatibility with custom themes like 'Classic Theme Restorer'.
As such I cannot use this addon.
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS: After install, do this to find the button! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
1) Click the three lines 'hamburger' icon in the top right of your browser URL bar.
2) In the bottom left of the expanded window, click 'Customise'.
3) Hold-click and drag the 'Unsorted Bookmarks' button to where you want it on the toolbar (probably next to the bookmark button).
Ideally the developer should code to do this automatically in the future, to avoid confusion. Not everyone are computer wizzes!
Can the default profanity list have a wider selection of words? Rated 3 out of 5 stars
I wish the addon hid the list with a '^show' button by default, but I just added in loads of blank lines to avoid this.
The scourge of the internet is getting (slightly) more imaginative and I think some common compound words like s***house and clusterf*** can be included in the default list. I know it is not possible to do *expletive* as this would hit many false positives (it might be possible for some of them though).
It would be nice to list some potential subscriptions, as I don't know how to search for them on the internet.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks! :)
Pleased Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This did what I wanted it to do: allow me to pre-buffer videos as I like to bounce around videos and with DASH that means constant loading for me with my ~2MB connection.
I had to switch from 480p to 720p though as the former isn't offered with DASH disabled.
My main criticisms are:
- It takes a while to load after the page loads, so the video starts buffering, then SmartVideo loads and the buffering starts all over again.
- It requires two clicks rather than the usual one to get to the settings screen from the Firefox addons page.
- I'm starting to get the feeling that this addon is no longer supported.
YouTube 'Default' Button Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Many people I expect will be installing this addon for one feature.
As such, it can be a pain to try and change the myriad of settings of this addon back to their YouTube defaults after installing.
Could you give us a button that could do this automatically?
I wanted to just disable DASH playback but keep all the rest of YouTube the same. I ended up just giving up and installing the SmartVideo extension instead (but unfortunately I'm not convinced that extension is supported any longer).
Please also allow ability to limit number of windows, & the total number of tabs in all windows Rated 5 out of 5 stars
OK so this isn't really a review but I'm really glad this addon exists.
I've been using Window and Tab Limiter for years but that addon hasn't been supported really for half a decade, so I'm thinking of making the switch.
I'll edit this review when I've tried it!
Edit: First impression - if you set the max tab limit above 99, the tab counter box does not expand to fit the number of digits.
Later impression: I would like to be able to display the total number of tabs in all windows. At the moment, you can open an infinite number of windows (effectively undermining the addon's purpose). I would like to be able to limit the number of tabs in a window, as done currently, but also the total number of tabs (and others may want a third option to limit the total number of windows). I imagine some people open all tabs in new windows (or spam ads do this for them), and as such this addon is useless for them.
NB: If you have a higher number of tabs than 10 when you install this addon, you just won't be able to open any new tabs until you set the max tab default to a higher value (or close the excess tabs).

Two additional things I would like:
I would like to be able to customise the keyboard shortcut. Ctrl-Alt-R is very awkward for the hand.
The customisation menu should be on the addons page, since most people would only change it once (or at least give us the option to do this).
Development is taking years too long. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I've abandoned this addon after waiting two years for the promised update.
Instead I've managed to get the same effect as I wanted using the addons 'Classic Theme Restorer' and 'Classic Toolbar Buttons'.
This is an excellent addon, but I'm not willing to use the Development Channel, and this addon has been broken in the main Release Channel for years now.
Nevertheless, it remains the most well-made, most artistically pleasing, diverse and subtle addon for customising the look of Firefox.
How do I show the total number of tabs open in all windows? Rated 5 out of 5 stars
How do I show the total number of tabs open in all windows?
(So if I have 10 windows with 10 tabs each, it shows the number 100.)
I'm currently using the string '%n' and it's only showing the number of tabs in the current window.
I think a little bit of UI assistance with the string box would be helpful for non-programming savvy people.
Really nice reading design. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I like it so much I'm finding it irritating hitting that button on every page, and the Ctrl-Alt-R shortcut is awkward to do one-handed.
Is there a way to customise the keyboard shortcut?
And is there a way to make it automatically convert when you reach a page?

This is my favourite on-the-fly translator, since it doesn't require a new page or weird floating box/new UI features. It uses standard UI and is uncluttered. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.1-signed). This user has a previous review of this add-on.

I have admittedly customised Firefox quite a lot (tabs on bottom, classic buttons, menu bar etc.) but I can no longer see my tab count. Sometimes there is no number/no space where it should be. Sometimes it works fine. Currently it just has a question mark '?' !!!This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Does not revert to original favicon Rated 3 out of 5 stars
The most pressing issue is that the addon does not reliably revert to the original favicon when you remove the site from the list.
When that is fixed, the next step is to allow the user to choose the favicon generated for each site (maybe have it randomly generate by default, and then let people edit on the site list page if they want to).

Is it possible to have the option to have the replay on by default when the page loads? Half the time I forget to press the button, then realise half an hour later. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (32.0.1-signed).
Just change the name!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
My only criticism with this addon is the name is not very marketable; it is very difficult to remember. I want this addon to do well as I think it is an excellent lightweight alternative to the Tab Mix Plus bloat, but in order to grow it needs a name that is easy to remember and type in so that it gets more hits from search results.
At least change it to 'Duplicate Tab in Context Menu'!!! - it's so much easier to say!
Simple Duplicate Tab
Quick Duplicate Tab
One-Click Duplicate Tab
Fast Duplicate Tab
Duplicate This Tab
Right-Click Duplicate Tab
Easy Duplicate Tab
Anything that's less of a mouthful will be much easier to remember.
PERFECTION! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Thank you so much for helping me avoid having to install the bloatware that is Tab Mix Plus purely for duplicating tabs.
Other than this addon, I use Tab Control to open new tabs next to current, with tabs opened in quick succession opened in a left-to-right group (avoids them ending up in reverse order).
(NB: if this addon duplicates the tab at the end of the tab list and you want it next to current, type 'about:config' in the address bar, search for 'browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent' and set it to true. Developer: could you please add this to this addon's options menu - it took me a while to work this out. Thanks!)
(To Paolo P: while this is true, it is not standard behaviour for controlling a single tab - the standard behaviour is to right click to select tab options. It is thus very unintuitive to use Ctrl imo.)
Two clicks is one too many - include option for just context menu item 'duplicate tab' Rated 3 out of 5 stars
I use this and Tab Control as a way to avoid the bloatware that is Tab Mix Plus.
However, I would much prefer if this addon had the option of just adding a single button to duplicate tab to the context menu, like in every other browser. This would save needing two clicks - I'm sure if you monitored usage people just duplicate the tab 99% of the time, and you are making this twice as complicated as it needs to be for GUI users by requiring two clicks to duplicate a tab. At least make this an option in the settings to simplify this addon for those who only need duplication of tab functionality.
'Back'/'Cancel' button in settings Rated 5 out of 5 stars
The problem with 'Chroming' the settings menu is that when you get that perfect colour, and then want to compare it to another, you can lose that perfect colour. Please add a back/cancel button to go back to the state before you made the most recent set of changes. This would encourage me to experiment with the interface a lot more, rather than being scared of losing that perfect look you found previously.
EDIT: Thanks! Changed the review score as a result of the developer's reply.
