I had the opposite problem. I honestly had rarely used it and for the longest time I couldn't get it to do anything.
After reading a bunch of these comments I went and selected a bunch of random products. It was as if it wasn't even there.
When freshly installed on a Palemoon 24.6.2(64) the icon disappears. It isn't available to customize and it vanishes from the add-ons manager list too. No other installed extension has this problem.
Then if the options are clicked on it creates an invisible window which prevents access to the browser. Only shutting the browser completely off fixes it. I run 122 add-ons and only this one has that problem.
On other computers with nearly cloned setups- but previously installed DFVs- these issues apparently aren't happening. On my main rig I have too many open tabs at the moment to risk checking for the options failure.
Also, I would have written the developers- but the link to the page gave an error.
If the developers respond and/or issue a solution I will gladly delete or raise this review.
I just tested it out and it is working! Hooray!!!!
Ultra-technical types could have traced mails. With this your grandma can do it!
I have used pretty much all of the major video tools over the years and not only did I learn more as time went along- but video is tricky and as time passes things change.
I recently dumped another one of the major ones due to increasing issues and then went on a blitz and review of video tools.
After it was all said and done IMO this one had the best combination of form and function. It is fast, EASY to use, no known privacy issues... Put it all together and your grandma could be saving videos with a couple of clicks.
Somebody should have done this a LONG time ago!
Many times we were doing things like writing segments of our mails in other programs because things like strikethrough weren't available.
This is yet one more reason why rabid-release is such a disaster. TB has also had massive version # inflation and yet the simplest improvements aren't happening...
Lastly, I would request one feature modification: Please make the 5 text colors either changeable or removable through toolbar customization. For those of us who need fancy-schmancy color options the old color picker actually is easier.
Anyways, good job and thank you in advance if you consider my feature request.
Have a good weekend!
Years ago this had the potential to revolutionize browser history but it was seriously lacking and apparently abandoned.
Although some others below have some (possible?) fixes that is too much work for something that did so little to begin with. I have asked my beta-testers and none of them had used it more than once- and I hadn't used it in ages either. That sealed the deal.
The basic idea really rocked but the execution has some holes in it:
* It has too many notifications and no option to toggle them.
* The icon is jumpy. It has anchoring which causes it to refuse customization- a common mistake by sloppy writers.
Lastly, I don't just write bad reviews- and before doing that I always write developers first and many respond and have good attitudes. In this case their page they say that they are "slightly off." It is more like gone.
The point was it was supposed to make unsubscribing easy. I gave it a spin and there was no button to be found anywhere. It was as if the whole AO wasn't even there.
OK, after testing it out it seems to work- but yet there still is something missing:
At first I thought it had no controls but then I found the button on my main UI randomly placed. I was able to successfully move it and it stayed in place after a restart. That part turned out to be OK.
Then I opened up a spam mail and it was impossible to place a report button there. Wouldn't that be a place where it gets used often?
I gave it a try and I could barely find it at all. Apparently it adds a context menu entry to check and then it reports back in (an unknown to me) Asian language.
With some more development and language support- maybe. Until then- no.
There is a rival add-on(CWWB) that clearly changes between green and red and I was hoping that this one would be similar because that one isn't available for Email.
Although this one can pull up the cookie manager the fact that hitting the button doesn't easily change permissions or have a granny-proof color system shows that it isn't ready for prime time- at least yet.
With maybe an update or two this could easily be a winner but those earlier 5 star reviews jumped the gun.
The idea is great and it could potentially make a real difference.
The issue I have seen is it has far too small of a catalog. Is it actively being developed? How can the catalog grow???
For 1000 years the fact that things could constantly jump around made replies almost unreadable sometimes. Why didn't they include something like this long ago as standard?
It is good to see that someone stepped it up!
Didn't it used to come with the option of extra buttons? Without those it is a handy part-timer for folks with multiple accounts- but nothing special- and kinda buggy.
It is pretty darn simple. You highlight the text, pick the color and you are in highlight heaven!
I have had it for a long time but I had never really used it. I tried it and all I got were server errors. Is it another case of abandonware?
The TB catalog is dying!
Mine still is working well and I have switched from TB to FossaMail. There is a % of mails that it can't identify but more often than not it performs as advertised.
Yes, it gives us the ability to have custom tones for each contact- but yet it sill is kinda lacking.
Here are some improvements:
* Correctly point to a sound folder when choosing sounds.
* Fix the annoying bug in which sounds keep coming unchecked in the options.
Give us improvements like that and this could easily be 4 or 5 stars. *** and 1/2 is fair for now.
Alright, I gave it a look and it can't install in FM 24.2.0b1- but it could install in TB 24.2.
I also went to the support page which then insisted on creating an account at Sourceforge. I no longer trust SF due to it's recent changes and the account also could not be created no matter how much I juggled things around. Even if that did work that is an awful lot of steps!
If it can be modified to work correctly I will come back and write a better review. Until then it is 1*
This one great for productivity and flow. It sounds simple but cutting out the steps of right-clicking and hitting copy is HUGE! For rookie users those are too many confusing steps and for veteran users this will add up to countless saved clicks.
The other advantage is this author didn't sell out and this one does not report back to any questionable servers. The stinky(regular) AutoCopy and all extensions bought out by Wips do!
