Folderpane Tools

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

@remmie -I've been using Folderpane Tools with many other extensions, and I do not have the problem you report, so most likely it is a conflict with another extension, not Folderpane itself that is causing your problem. Troubleshooting extension conflicts can be a 'pane' (pun intended), but I would recommend the half-split method...For an extension that has been in maintenance mode for as long as this one has, and to continue working as well as it has, is amazing - 5 stars...

ProfileSwitcher

Very useful, one minor annooyance... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hello, 5 stars for functionality, but there is one minor annoyance...

In Thunderbird (both 10.0.xESR and 17.0ESR), if you have buttons set to 'Icons Beside Text', the icon looks right when you place it, but as soon as you close the 'Customize' window, it changes to 'Icons and Text' (where the text is below the icon), which causes it to be much taller than all the others...

Tree Style Tab

Latest version (0.14.2012020901) causes Firefox close button to stop working Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Help!!!

I have extensions set to auto-update, and this update has created havoc at my helpdesk, because now no one can close a Firefox browser window.

I troubleshooted and determined that it is this update to Tree Style Tab that cause the problem - reverting to 2011121501 (because of the bug in 2012.012901 that messes up the auto-hide/show sensitive area) fixes the problem... but the extension then updates itself again, bringing the problem back...

Still giving 5 stars because I love the extension, but hope this can be fixed quickly (or this latest version pulled from AMO)...

Tree Style Tab

Bug with sensitive area for auto-hide/show Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi Piro,

First, love love love Tree Style Tab, thanks very much for your hard work keeping it up to date.

But, I am having the same problem as the two others have reported with the latest version (2012.012901). The earlier version I had before it updated still works fine after reverting to it (2011.121501), I'll try to explain better the problem...

First, I have my tab bar set to the left side of the window.

With 'Auto Hide Tab Bar' enabled (I enable it for both modes), and the number of pixels for the sensitive area set to 5 pixels (default is 7 I believe), the sensitive area should be calculated from the left edge of the window. This is how it has always worked for me, and how it works in version 2011121501.

But with the latest version, it appears to calculate the sensitive area (for when it Shows the tab bar) from what is the righ-most edge of the tab bar when it is displayed, instead of from the leftmost edge of the window. This causes the tab bar to auto-show itself when I am very far from the left edge of the window, instead of when my mouse gets just the specified number of pixels from the leftmost edge.

I hope that explanation was more clear.

Again, thanks very much for Tree Style Tab! Still giving 5 stars because this is the first real problem I've had with it in a long time... :)

Context Search X

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I was glad to find this new version - I've been modifying the old context search to work with newer version of Firefox..

One feature request though - Thunderbird support. By this I mean, do the same thing in Thunderbird when selecting text in the email body, but provide access to the search engines already installed in Firefox (if it is installed)...

Extra Folder Columns

Excellent but one bug and one Feature Request Rated 5 out of 5 stars

First, thanks for this extension! I still can't believe the devs removed this basic functionality from the core code.

Ok, the bug, minor as it is:

When you have Newsgroups, it shows 3 ?'s (???) under the 'Size' column next to each newsgroup. I'd suggest it should just be blank, or more properly, reflect the size being taken up ON DISK for the local cache for that newsgroup.

Now, for the Feature Request (sorry it is so lengthy):

There is a feature available in the Mailtweak 1.0pre10 addon (http://mailtweak.mozdev.org/installation.html) that I absolutely love...

I have a little video of my minimalist UI's for both Firefox and Thunderbird showing this in action here:

http://www.web2test.net/Minimal_UIs.swf

It provides the ability to hide the email folder pane (and the email header pane (and the dev for the CompactHeader extension has already expressed interest in adding this capability to it for auto show/hiding the email headers), and auto-show it simply by mousing over the left side of the window (where the folder pane would normally be). When your mouse gets right up to the left edge, it pops out to the right, and when you move the mouse out of the folder pane, it disappears again. This provides a huge increase in usable screen real estate, and is especially useful on netbooks. It would be nice if the 'hotspot' (in pixels) could be a config option.

One thing though... it would be great if it could be implemented in a (semi-transparent) Panel, the way the auto show/hide of the Tab bar in Firefox (provided by the Treestyle Tab addon) works in the above video - meaning, it doesn't SHIFT the message list/detail panes when the folder pane is displayed, it 'overlays' them until you mouse out of the folder pane, then it disappears again...

Unified Search

More about missing Labels Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi Iago,

I discovered that the labels are only missing when I have set the toolbar to icons only. If I change the toolbar to icons and text, then the labels are there.

I'd really like to see the labels for Unified Search even if I have the toolbar icons set to icon only.

Also, when the toolbar is set to icons only, there are NO icons for the selectors (Sender, Recipients, etc) and no tooltips for them either.

Hide Menubar

Thunderbird support no more?? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I don't even use Hide Menubar on Firefox any more ever since I found your other wonderful extension - Personal Titlebar - that allows me to move everything on the Menu Bar up to the Window Titlebar...

Please, please bring back support for Thunderbird, as, until Personal Titlebar supports Thunderbird, I still need it there...

Otherwise, I'd give it 5 stars...

Unified Search

Awesome addon - almost perfect... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi Iago,

> Bug number 2: I can't confirm, but knowing the problems I had in the past with synchronisation between Unified Search
> options and Quick Filter options, all is possible ;-). Synchronisation is being harder than I believe when started this extension.
> If you can give me some extra info I thank you:
> - What operating system and version?

Windows XP Pro sp3 fully patched

> - What Thunderbird version?

5.0

> - When this bug happens you,
> - are you using the horizontal criteria bar or the vertical criteria menu (where are the filter options, horizontal or vertical)?

Horizontal

> - all options checked in Unified Search are the same are checked in Quick Filter toolbar?

Yes

> About bug 'the labels for the criteria are totally blank on mine', I don't understand well what meaning: Texts are missing? Every time?

Yes

> When texts/labels are missing, labels in Quick Filter toolbar are missing too?

Yes

> What screen size are you using?

24" LCD, 1920x1080

Great work Iago on this fantastic addon...However, there is one problem I've noticed, and one thing missing...UPDATE: Another bug - right now, the labels for the criteria (Sender, Recipients, Subject, etc) are totally blank on mine...******************************1. Missing is the auto-clear functionality that the Quickfilter searchbox exhibits when you switch to a different folder...Yes, the search is no longer applied (as long as you haven't stickied it), but the contents of the search box is not cleared, when it should be.2. I have had problems with the search criteria getting confused/out of sync, where I get zero results when I know there are emails that match the criteria I have entered. In order to 'fix' the problem, I have to open the Quickfilter toolbar, and deselect and reselect the desired criteria (normally just 'Subject, Sender and Recipients'), then it will find the results...I haven't figured out how to reliably reproduce the problem, but it happens often enough that you should be able to if you're looking for it.Otherwise, an essential addon for TB5+!

View Headers Toggle Button

Guess this extension is dead - no response from the dev for a year now... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Too bad... seems like such a simple thing, since the button only has to execute the same code as the menu command, but apparently not or else you'd think someone else would have come along and figured out how to update it. I took a peek, but quickly got lost (ianap)...

Hide Menubar

Awesome, especially for Netbook users Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hide Menubar is one awesome extension, and its author, yuoo2k, provides fast and excellent support if you ever have any problems.

And the latest version from his site now uses a Panel, so that in Thunderbird3 and Firefox4, the menu bar doesn't shove the window contents down, it just drops the menu bar down over the very top of the page (sadly the panel doesn't work in Firefox 3 in combination with TreeStyle Tabs and having tabs on the left because of a problem with Firefox)...

Anyway, 5 stars for both functionality and support... thanks yuoo2k!

Extra Folder Columns

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I don't see the Account name on every folder...

But what I *would* like to see is a label for the actual 'Account / Folder' column (on the far left) that has been missing ever since the TB developers ripped this necessary functionality out. The extension has never added it back, and until it does, it will always be 3 stars from me.

Lazarus: Form Recovery

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Ok, I installed this a few days ago and then forgot about it, until just now when I posted a long respone on the bugzilla bug reporter, but when I submitted got a collision warning but closed the window too soon and lost everything.

I re-opened the window (TabMixPlus' Session Manager rocks), clicked the back button, and my post was gone - but Lazarus actually saved the day!

Awesome extension, this has happened many times to me in the past, and now no more lost posts!

Thank you Interclue Team!

Provider for Google Calendar

No Alarms with TB 3.1, L 1.0b2 and Prov 0.7 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Major bug with TB 3.1, lightning 1.0b2 and Provider 0.7 - no alarms will work.

Editing the event won't save any details (Category, Alarm, etc).

I did try deleting and re-adding the calendar, still no alarms...

Still giving 5 stars because when it works, it works very well...

TinyURL Generator

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've really been missing TinyURL Creator since upgrading to FF3.6, so am really happy to find this!

There are two things I'd like to see changed/added though...

1. A way to disable the statusbar icon - I prefer the toolbar icon, and my statusbar is already too cluttered - and

2. A way to define a fallback service - I've seen the tinyurl service go down for days at a tim, and TinyURL Creator supported multiple services, so when that happened, I just switched to one of the other services...

Otherwise, this is an excellent addon, 5 stars...

View Headers Toggle Button

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Only 4 stars since it isn't supported in TB3 and the dev has been non-responsive to email inquiries... once it is updated I'll change it to 5 stars...

I really miss the convenience of View Headers Toggle since moving to TB3 - I really hope the author will update it soon - or that someone else will come along and do it for him...

It is simple but so convenient for anyone who examines headers a lot...

Track Package

Messes up buttons when editing Toolbars in FF 3.6 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love this extension, but there's a problem in Firefox 3.6.

Trackpackage 2.5 - and problem still exists in 2.6 - adds a huge mess of buttons in the toolbar config editor in Firefox 3.6.

Seems to be ok in Thunderbird, where I use it the most.

I've emailed the dev twice about it now, but still no resolution.

Will change to 5 stars once this is resolved.

Update for Thunderbird 3? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is one of those simple but very useful extensions, and I hope it doesn't get abandoned...

I'd really like to see an update for this for Thunderbird 3, since I've just made the move permanently...
