Is anyone interested in a Firefox 4/Gecko 2 version of this extension?

Very useful add on. Please update for Firefox 4.0 Beta 2.

Not bad.

Do you still support this add on? I would like to update Firefox to 3.5, but I cannot while Prefswitch isn't compatible.

Still supporting

I uploaded prefswitch-0.3.2, but it will take some time to get through the review process. You will loose your switches/profiles (if created by yourself). Make sure to backup the files in your profile folder > extensions > prefswitch@mozdev.org. Also consider using the release from http://prefswitch.mozdev.org .

Status Bar Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like it. But it would be nice if there was more feedback about what profile is active. So I suggest the option to display a text label that displays the name of the active profile next to the PrefSwitch icon. Also, when right-clicking on PrefSwitch icon, I would love to have a submenu through which I can control the switches of the current active profile (a submenu similar to show/hide, but for turning on/off switches). This way I could hide all statusbar icons except for the main icon, thus saving lots of space and having everything less cluttered there.

It cannot work properly with OSB Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for the great extension.
But it cannot work properly with Organize Statusbar Buttons.
Another suggestion, when can icons be used instead of colorful texts?

Thanks a lot!

It's so damn good... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A little gem!
It still needs some polishing, like ability to clone and move up/down for profiles/switches/states. Plus moving settings from extension dir to profile would be a good idea... despite that it's one of those extensions that (in skillful hands) can replace many, many others! Simple idea behind it that makes it so damn good ;)

Been looking for something like this for years. Highly configurable, extensible and robust. A must-have for power users. Thanks a lot!

Usability Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great extension although how do I remove the CSS and JS in the status bar? Also my own switches I can show/hide but disappear once I restart the browser.

Re: Usability

I made the changes you asked for.

You can hide the CSS/JS by right-clicking on any switch, then choose Show/hide and there you can hide them.

If you now select your own switches to be visible, they will not be hidden anymore when opening a new window or exiting/restarting. I suggest you change or add a profile which then will show your switches when it is selected.
