This is the menu extension to get. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I used to use Compact Menu 2, but switched to this when the Custom Menu button option quit working. If there was one thing I would change it would be to add the same option to this extension so you have a choice of big orange button or one of your own.

Thanks for a great menu extension! :-D

Classic Theme Restorer integration Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have been using this addon since Firefox 4. In conjunction with the More Tools extension, it is an excellent way to add these options to the menu.

It would be great if this addon could integrate with Classic Theme Restorer, though. The button this addon creates does not replace the one from CTR, and the button from CTR can be placed exactly as it was in previous versions of Firefox. Status-4-Evar, Private Tab and Classic Toolbar Buttons already integrate with CTR too.

Functionality = Great! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Functionality wise it's great. Installed on FF 45.0.1 Gives me a Firefox button as was in older versions and from it's option of edit this menu went on to remove the new button on right side of toolbar and customized to add another options as well.
The only thing is that the 4 stars are for functionality and it could be 5 stars if only the button visual appearance could be more customized or be more polished looking like the button height is equal to height of the tab bar, colours be a little more shiny with that orange colour of button be more subtle with little transparency.
But all in all funtionality wise it's a 5 star addon.

Love Australis, but want the Firefox App Menu Back? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Install This! To Change the settings, go to about:addons and find this addon. Then click on preferences. That is how you change/disable the new Firefox Menu.

No way to skin the button (is black text on black title bar for me), and doesn't get rid of that other stupid firefox button perminately on the right.

Very easy to use Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I read a review: addon not intuitive ???
Did you use the right addon? This one is very easy to use, it brings a menu, next to the tabs title, and you can customize it by adding or removing items, once clicked on "edit this menu" in the menu. What is inintuitive about that? Very useful.

To add in the right panel, you click on the panel first, it makes it selected, and you add items like for the left panel.
You can add any item of the bookmark folder.

Shut up GuzzizBird Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If the dev is not active, that does not mean he does not listen to people. A dev reply is not needed to show dev support. Now shut up and give this addon what it is worth for.

Could EASILY Be Improved Rated 2 out of 5 stars

A word about add-ons:

BEST
Make the add-on intuitive, aka user-friendly, such that documentation serves only as an occasional reference.

ACCEPTABLE
If the add-on isn't necessarily intuitive, either from lack of effort to produce same or because its nature makes it difficult to do so, documentation is readily available to get the user going.

UNACCEPTABLE
Neither is the add-on intuitive nor is documentation available.

WORST
Add-on unintuitive, documentation unavailable, and developer (a) doesn't learn anything from user reviews complaining about it, and (b) is too lazy or too insecure to spend a few minutes writing a text help file to be incorporated with an updated release of the add-on.

A 4-star or potentially 5-star add-on reduced to 2 stars out of sheer stubborn bullheaded stupidity : unwillingness to adapt and learn.

Not what it was, but still quite useful Rated 4 out of 5 stars

@ineuw,

I don't know if you're still reading, but in case you are -- To put new items in the right-hand panel, single-click on anything in that panel just before you add the item. Newly-added items will always appear right above the previously selected item, so you just need to make sure that the thing so selected is something in the right-hand panel. It took me a while to figure out how to do it too. :) Some more intuitive way of doing this would be nice -- maybe something to think about for a later release.

This add-on is still quite useful, although it's not nearly the powerhouse it was before Australis. (A moment of silence for those lovely customizable history and bookmark buttons, sniff...) I've found that combining it with the "Menu Editor" add-on can really extend its functionality.

Interesting but lacks instruction Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I like the add-on solely because it increases the screen's vertical space. But, I have no idea how to place items in the right panel of the split. Is there any instruction for the add-on? Also, there is no support section mentioned in the review instructions

losing its appeal Rated 3 out of 5 stars

since ff v29, it is apparently no longer possible to display bookmarks (such as bookmark toolbar items) in the menu, thus you cannot achieve the results as pictured in the description.

it would be great if the ability to add bookmarks to the menu was added, though this has been mentioned in the support forum

Great extension. Been using it since forever. What on Earth happened to the "Configuration" menu entry? It was so useful!

Loved it back then, irrelevant now Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This was a great app in the good old days of Firefox. Now that the Firefox button is removed altogether, I really don't need it any more. 4 stars for nostalgia!

Awesome Addon. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works great, and I love it that I can edit the menu myself. I have only one issue though.
When used with defualt theme, the icon of the menu shows. But if I use complete theme like FTDeepDark or FXChrome, the icon no longer appears. Only a tiny dropdown appears and I can click on it open then menu. See the screeshot http://tinyurl.com/mmysn37 . Is there a way to fix it?

Works as expected. Used this add-on since a while ago, trimmed the menu to my liking, never had any complaints. I know it was essentially just additional "gravy", but with its loss I just cannot make myself put up 5 stars for this add-on:

Could you please give a hint as to why you dropped the bookmarks and historty buttons? If the code is compatible with FF29, I would really like them back, maybe as a stand-alone addon. The built-in buttons are worse for the desktop than this add-on's were, as your buttons TRIGGERED respective sidebars AND opened drop-down menus with one click and without delay. I, personally, used both of these functions a lot and FF29 buttons are substantially less usable on a desktop. The CSS code you proposed to another user does not solve this.

I would be grateful for any advice or heads-up on how to bring about combo-buttons for sidebar triggering and dropdown menu opening in FF29.

Very nice; essential on FX29.0 when you don't want repetition of options between the congruence icon and the firefox icon.

I would give you 5 stars if you let us move options between the left-side menu and the right-side one.

Request: Translucent button for Firefox 29 default theme Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great Addon, especially since you can use it to toggle the Bookmarks sidebar. Could we get an option for a translucent button? (to blend in better with the dark FF29 theme)

Keep up the good work Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love it, works great. With FF29 ti looks a bit weird but it's five stars without question.

Was great until FF29. Now it's fixed but with new looks. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The new update fixes all of the problems, but I would much rather use the nicer button from Classic Theme Restorer (that weird solid block just doesn't look right). A true option to completely disable it would be nice. This is its only flaw for me.

I am giving this five stars because the problems started with FF29, which was Mozilla's fault.

Keep up the good work! :)
