You seriously saved my ass, or at least my nerves.
The address is part of the page, that's why it MUST be part of the tab, which means it MUST be beneath the tabbar but still above the page itself.

Thank you for saving me several hours of coding and debugging!!!

Doesn't work anymore in newest Firefox versions, and the dev has disappeared for good.

Stop providing alternative solutions Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I keep reading about changing certain settings or using Stylish addons. The truth is that NONE of them is equal to using this now-abandoned, wonderful addon. I'll be forced to stay on old versions of Firefox.

A good replacement Rated 5 out of 5 stars

That was a great addon, unfortunately it is no longer working...

I may recommend a replacement by installing the Stylish addon plus these two styles

Make Firefox great again Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Cause Firefox is worse and worse, and the location bar is now all clustered, it's good to come back to the cleaner old location bar version 2.0

Looking forward to update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is one of the best add-ons ever but sadly won't function in FF51. I went back to FF50 rather than do without it. Look forward to update!

Doesn't work anymore as of FF51 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Went from v50.1.0 to v51.0.1 and it doesn't work anymore.

Also after FF48 i got the issue reported by the user "soisfoijsidjgsg" in the previous reviews. The solution provided by him doesn't work anymore. This addon needs to be updated.

Classic Firefox addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One of the first addons any Firefox customizer looks into, always been great. Update would be great!

To fix the issue with drop-down enter on the first item Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The issue which started in FF 43 with the first drop-down item not being selectable with down->enter can be fixed as follows:

Go to about:config (if you don't know how to do this from this instruction alone, I'd suggest either finding out more first by plugging "firefox about:config" into a search engine, or not proceeding for fear of potentially damaging your browser.)

Find this item: browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete
Set it to false.

Oldbar will now respond to down->enter on the first item once again.

FF 43 first item problem Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For FF 43 (Win, Linux, Mac), typing in location bar, first drop-down history item cannot be selected with down-Enter. Same problem with "oldbar", but this add-on is newer and better, and still maintained.

Life Saver Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the extension you need if you wish to get rid of Mozilla's "AwesomeBar" chaotic matching behaviour. Old Location Bar offers the option to customize the matching behaviour, including setting it to match only the beginning of titles and URLs. Upon installing it you'll no longer be subjected to the insanity of typing "R" and seeing results like "addons.mozilla.oRg" appear.

This extension offers a number of useful configuration options, but I miss one that would preserve the default Location Bar dropdown style. The current Firefox native UI doesn't bother me nearly as much as the matching behaviour. I didn't want to change it, only control the results.

FireFox 40 Not Verified message Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Firefox 40 is reporting this extension is not verified and will ceases to function in Firefox 41. I have version 2.2.1-signed.1 installed. Any fix for this yet?

FIX PROBLEM Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The problem came from Firefox Addon Site: first they changed the extension name from 2.2 to 2.2.1-signed, correctly changing the version name inside "install.rdf", then they changed it again to 2.2.1-signed.1, but this time they forgot to update install.rdf with the correct name.

To avoid the reported malfunction, just save the add-on instead of installing it, then edit the file "install.rdf" by changing the line

and finally install the new xpi addon. This will stop Firefox from asking to update again and again.

I asked the developer to add an option to control font size in the location bar...one day later it appeared!! Thanks very much.

URL Bar Font Size/Color settings is very nice feature, but why typeface changed ? IMHO, old was better :)

Hi, I have not changed the typeface. If you set your font-size to the default 12, take a screenshot and compare to the urlbar without the add-on installed, it looks exactly the same.
Perhaps you could share a screenshot of your URL bar to show me the issue? Thank you.

Had to try a few different settings for the add-on before it was working properly again, but with those tweaks, 2.1.9 is working.

Thanks! :)
