Fantastic Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This extension is just incredible. Finally an extension that replaces the ugly default scrollbar.

I like it. 5 stars.
Features I'd like to see: Background color gradient in Customizable v2 and the option of arrows for the buttons, with color and color gradient still applicable.
It's still five stars, even without those features.

Really not a bad addon ... I made sure to do a "skin" online Adobe PDF Reader ... makes her well ^ ^
The worry is that the horizontal bars do not work at all when the width is less than 11 ... and even 11 precisely area "click" only 1 pixel ... should adjust its is a big concern . I had the same problem with an option to keep the bar above the content in HTML pages.
So I put 4 stars for now ;)

Thanks.

Not every available option works everywhere with all plugins and on all OS. Ecpecially MacOSX likes to break things, but also Adobe plugins.

I believe Adobe controls scrollbar width inside their pdf plugin at least partly.

Best Scrollbar Addon Period...One Suggestion Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Aris,

I am a big fan of this add-on and your other add-ons (especially GMF, and after Australis hits, EVERYONE is going to flock to CTR). As do many of your great add-ons, it allows users to customize and beautify their browsing experience in a way that most other add-ons cannot. For me, however, I only use this add-on for its "No Scrollbars" feature to remove all scrollbars from my browser, so I really use only a fraction of the extension.

Judging from doing a Google search online for "Remove Scrollbar," I think there is a high demand for the "No Scrollbars" feature from minimalists like me, but many people do not find their way to this add-on because the feature is masked by the focus on the many other customization options. They are left with weird userChrome.css/userContent.css options that do not perform this feature quite as perfectly. My suggestion is that you create an simpler, lightweight add-on that simply performs your "No Scrollbars" feature only. It wouldn't even need a GUI. Maybe even restartless? =) I think it would be a big hit.

What do you think?

Thanks.

I'm not sure Firefox another scrollbars add-on by me. ;-)

I will think about it.

This addon really has an interesting choice of sliders

Thank you thank you thank you! Super extremely glad to be able to see my scroll bar, yay no more squinting! May your day be as blessed as you have made mine. Oh and the colors are cute too.

Works nicely, with a few exceptions Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Really nice addon that lets you style your scrollbar.
I went for a simple, low contrast (high on hover) and compact scrollbar for future browsing.

However, there is still a lot of room for improvement and fixing:
Highlighting on hover works, however not while one drags it. Also, unlike the regular scrollbar, highlighting only starts once you are over the dragable slider or button(s). With CSS3 animation, maybe some fluent transition between hover/active/idle would be possible as well.
It also unfortunately breaks the responsive design scrollbars, which are different from the usual scrollbars. To enter the responsive design mode, press CTRL + Shift + M.
"Scrollbars on top of webcontent", being a nice new feature, does not always work. E.g. It fails in the Typo3 CMS backend, as the scrollbar is nested below certain elements...
"Transparent scrollbar background" only works properly with "Scrollbars on top of webcontent" enabled. Maybe this should be a requirement for checking the box?
A color transparency setting would also be nice (eg. #ffaabbcc), especially when used with "Scrollbars on top of webcontent".

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the review and your suggestions.

You are right, there is always room for improvement. ;-)

Scrollbars in Firefox are always very sensitive and don't work correctly for all cases. Some features especially the one with transparency you are referring to works best on Windows AeroGlass.

for this wonderful, colorful extension, works well in FF 21.0,
I highly recommend the fabulous NewScrollbars (aka NoiaScrollbars) together with your Noia 4 theme.

Well Done Aris.

I just began using this and I love it!! It adds a pop of colour to an otherwise boring scroll bar, and it also comes in handy for when my husband uses firefox, as he doesn't see very well.

Well done!!!!

Could you please please make it possible to have a scrollbar on both sides of the page? I am handi-capped and this would make using the internet much more bearable. Furthermore I'll donate $100 to the cause if you do. :)

Hello hunter4200,

I'm afraid Mozilla never intended to have such features. There is no way to have two vertical scrollbars on the same page. It is only possible to have one scrollbar on the left or on the right.

Scrollbars were not further developped for years now and I doubt this will change in the next years.

A decent add-on for those who want a sleeker look for their scrollbar. Everything works as intended and looks nice.

There is one request that I would personally love if implemented (though I don't know how much demand it would have)....to automatically hide the scrollbar when going into fullscreen mode. Nobody else seems to have this functionality (from what I have seen). If I had the knowledge I would try to tackle it myself, but I only know HTML/CSS and haven't really dove into programming languages much.

EDIT - @Aris: Oh ok...that's too bad. Maybe one day Mozilla will change how their scrollbar works. Opera has that functionality built in and I really liked it for viewing large pictures in fullscreen mode.

Thanks for review.

Scrollbars don't get reloaded after switching between fullscreen mode and default mode, only after content change (e.g after a page gets loaded). So this is not possible, sorry.

Edit: I hope that too. They haven't changed or fixed scrollbars for years now.
