I am very glad to come across this addon. Sometimes I click on several links in YouTube to open in other tabs, and I used to have to immediately go to each tab and stop each one to keep from having several videos playing simultaneously. But now, not only do I no longer have to do that, but I get the bonus of not having them load either, keeping bandwith and resource usage down.

Plus now I have an additional bonus of not having unwanted videos playing when visiting sites that do this, keeping the annoyance factor down while again, saving bandwith and resources.

Thank you for your work.

Needs updating. Broken. Wouldn't recommend you install the current version.

Broken Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It's not updated and hopelessly broken these days. Fails loading the video on metacafe when I click. Some times just got whitelisted by themselves and I couldn't untick it on the flashblock button. They didn't even appear in the list in the settings window. I had to delete the whitelist.
It started blocking the pdf viewer plugin once and I had to click three times for the document to load.

Conflict with Flashgot Rated 2 out of 5 stars

The PLAY button on blocked video won't show up with Flashgot installed. Thus, you won't be able to play blocked youtube videos.

This is quite annoying for users who don't want videoS to start automatically in the background!

Works great. Info page says it does not work with NoScript but I've been using the 2 together for years. Not sure why it works for me.

Love it. Gives ME ability to deny or allow intrusive, bandwith-eating Flash content. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very useful for allowing YOU to control if Flash content plays automatically, or only when you click the button. This can speed up website page loads. I especially like putting the little icon to "Allow/Disallow Flash from this site" button on the toolbar for ease of use. Great app. Thank you!

It's a solid add-on if you're using an older version of Firefox/Palemoon/etc. The change to Gecko 24.0 for the codebase appears to be what's broken this plugin. If you're using Palemoon, version 20.2.1 for example works fine. Gecko 24 [Sept 2013] however is where it stops working.

Not working in Palemoon 24.2.2 x86 Win7 :( Specifically, the Flashblock logo shows up where a Flash element would be, but it's not clickable or anything.

"Cick to play per element" is broken too and Firefox's own click-to-play feature is rubbish, so there doesn't seem to be anything anymore to make Flash opt-in per element

Здорово экономит трафик, а заодно и блокирует рекламу)

Getting YouTube to Activate !! Remove FlashGot Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Yes, I stopped having problems with YouTube 'Play' icon barely showing once I removed FlashGot.

Not sure if those two plug-ins(Developers) kan work out their issues/konflict with each other..

There is an option in the settings whether to check the source of the object for whitelist entries.

Now there are two cases where this setting should apply:

1. The setting is enabled, the source website is not in the whitelist but the embedding website is. Expectation: The addon blocks the flash object. Reality: It does just that.

2. The setting is disabled (!), the source website is in the whitelist, the embedding website is not. Expectation: The addon blocks the flash object (because according to the phrasing of the setting it should ignore the fact that the source website is in the whitelist). Reality: The object is not blocked and loads immediately.

Logically this should not happen, and since I installed this addon to block third party embedded objects regardless whether the source site is blocked or not this is a deal breaker for me.

Apart from that I love the functionality of this addon. It would be great if you could implement another setting for how the addon behaves when the source site is whitelisted but the embedding site is blocked, because there seems to be currently no way to have the object blocked in that case.

It works on youtube! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The reason was addon FlashGot.
