Too bad this 0.7 is not compatible with T-bird 3.1.2, it seems to have worked only for T-bird 3.0

Very useful, thanks. Should be standard part of Thunderbird.
But can't you add functionality to be able to configure the date format in message header as well? That would complete the job. Thanks

Hi there,

good add-on! really helpful.

Was hoping to see the option of "mounting" my own string (dd/mm/yyyy or mmm-dd-yy etc etc). This could also help the poor souls who can't understand 24H formats ;-)

One little thing I can't get around as is though is that in my TB3.0 it shows (ex.):
17/02/2010 22:35 PM
You're supposed to take note of the "PM" - which makes no sense at all of course since it is in 24H notation ;-) It of couse says "AM" when in that period.

The config is "Short".

cheers...
Vitus

nice add on Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like it. I'd like to see a 2nd long version where the month and day of the week were shortened. I'd like to see a 3 character month and a 2 character day of the week.

Still shows short date (dd.mm.yyyy hh:mm) even if selected long.

Works great, just as described.

However the TB3 message pane layout really is horrible looking. The from, subject and to are all lowercase REALLY breaks a lot of english language protocols by not being capitalized. Additionally the time/date is all the way on the right which looks absolutely horrible. It would be really great if someone like yourself could modify the message pane layout so that things are capitalized properly AND move the date/time back to the left. What were they thinking?

can't load Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I am running Firefox 3.0.3 and this date add-on is not compatible, even though it says it's updated as of a few weeks ago.

I need an add-on as I can't seem to change the date display, even in the about:config settings since the "mail.ui.display..." is not listed!

ideas?

the idea is great and i think date format configuration has to be integrated into thunderbird. anyhow, i think more customisation is needed for this extension.

God but not enought flexible. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Thanks for add-on.
For me, it's bit strange implementation of "this week", I supposed that week starts from Mo., but it starts 7 days ago.
And second point, there is not so much possibilities to adjust date.
Ideal case is to set date by template string.

Firefox or Thunderbird? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

If this is a Thunderbird add-on why is it listed under Firefox?

Fine extension but not 24h time Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This extension is fine if you prefer seeing time displayed in a 24h format. I am not comfortable reading 24h time and wish there was an option to change to a 12h format. I uninstalled the extension to look for something more to my liking.

It doesn't work with Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 on Fedora 9, and there is nothing in the documentation that gives any way to contact the author.

This worked great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I am new to Thunderbird after giving up on trying to get a fix for Outlook Express's problem of not remembering passwords to email account, I ditched Outlook Express and tried Thunderbird.

I noticed that Thunderbird does not have the date when emails arrive for the current day by default. I did a search and came up with this add-on and it works great!

Only thing I would add is to the install instructions.. After installing the add on, go back to the Add-ons menu and Choose "Enable", and choose the date format you would like to use, then click "OK" to install the Add-on. Then close and open Thuderbird, and your former time dated only emails will now have the date format you selected!
