Thanks for the 0.5 interval font size update! I tried doing it manually in Firefox before, but it didn't work so well in combination with your add-on and changing the font type. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (37.0). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Thanks for making this. It's really stable.
Really great add-on. Easy to choose what to download and muxes for me!
Have you thought of adding support for the DownThemAll add-on? YouTube videos download much faster with a download accelerator.
It works just as expected! It takes you right to the folder. I always put off this problem with Firefox, and this should definitely come by default.
One thing that would be really cool is to have a Go Parent to the History. So when searching for something in History, it should go to the location of the item in history, so that I can see what other pages I visited around that time. Right now I have to do this manually, and it's a real pain. I don't really know how feasible this is with the Firefox history library, but it would be even more useful.
I love it. Many functions and nice customizing options. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.24).
This addon is great for privacy and it's really useful to have throwaway accounts set up so easily.
However, I have to disable it for this new update because it's using about 200 megabytes of memory at startup of Firefox. Or sometimes way more than that, and eats up a ton of memory, severely slowing down the start up, or completely freezing Firefox. I'll keep the rating at a 4 because it's pretty new release of Firefox.
First, to comment on some nice things in this add-on.
-Useful and functional add-on, while also providing a clean look
-I like the bar at the top. I also really like how when using the back and forward buttons, the page changes instantly. Faster than it does through the web browser. This might be because of the many add-ons I have installed and they are not enabled within your add-on.
I don't like how it opens in its own type of window.
-This is not preferable for me because I am reverted to the default smooth scrolling in Firefox, and I like using my SmoothWheel add-on.
-By opening Wikipedia in it's own type of window, it is not saved in the history of Firefox. So there could be options for the user in the settings to do this (for people who like choice), I think it would good for there to be an option to save the Wikipedia results by default, and not the dictionary results by default.
I'm saying "it's own window" because I don't know how else to describe it. But another add-on that I use called FoxLingo that functions similarly to QuickWiki and opens in a window that does not look like a Firefox window, does not have the problem that it does with the SmoothWheel add-on.
And personally, I prefer the FoxLingo add-on for wiktionary lookup because it provides me with other dictionary results as well, since I see others have commented on that. This is useful because FoxLingo puts a different dictionary result at the top when there is no dictionary entry for wiktionary, which is also when QuickWiki does not work.
I like how there is a button in the addon button to be able to quickly switch between fonts.
One bug that I found is that when the context menu becomes scrollable (too many items to fit the screen), when moving the mouse horizontally, the menu increases or decreases in width. Just an aesthetic flaw though. Everything still works fine.
One thing that would be really nice is for the add-on page font to be able to be changed separately because with a different font at a smaller size (about 15 or less), the add-on page is much smaller than the rest of the browser font.
Also, I had to go into about:config to change the browser font to 11.5 because neither 11 nor 12 worked well for me for Arial. 11.5 makes the font size look the same as the Firefox default Segoe UI at size 12. And now checking the menu it says "normal" font even though I set it to 11.5. Maybe half point font sizes can be added to better smaller font choices to accommodate others using this tool.
still 5/5 for how nicely it does what I expected it to do.
Thanks. This is useful because HTTPS Everywhere isn't updated fast enough or isn't being updated to support HTTPS for the newest piratebay domain.
Thanks for making this addon.Unfortunately, I have to either disable this addon or use IE Tab 2 when on amazon.com because on amazon.com, when I have this add-on enabled, on any product page, I am not able to view a larger image of the product or switch between images of the product. I am also not able to switch between multiple types of the product (for example, different colors). Hovering the mouse over each picture does not work as it is supposed to either. It looks like this problem only occurs with amazon, and not other websites that function similarly.
Thank you so much for making this addon! It works exactly as it is supposed to! I've really needed this for such a long time, as I always have many youtube and soundcloud links open, and it's great with this app to know which tabs have the music playing, able to stop/play them, and the name of the song.
The one thing I request is in the menu, to be able to switch to each tab. So like right clicking instead of left clicking (which currently plays that song instead) on one of the tabs in the app menu switches you to that tab.
works great. it didn't work for awhile but since the last update everything has been working fine. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.1.2).
Works really well. I've been using this for a long time. I never see any ads with this addon. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.9).
Version 0.2.3 has lines showing when using the LiteFox persona. All other skins work though. When going into fullscreen the bottom of the sidebar is blocked by the Windows taskbar. This will probably have to be adjusted by the user unless you can figure out a way to know how large the taskbar is for the user since it is different depending on the user's settings. This addon is great for widescreen monitors.I really like though how you can set it to pop up only when you move to the very edge of the screen with the mouse. Would be great if it worked with aurora version or at least beta.
EDIT: It is very hard to get the sidebar to reappear when Firefox is not maximized and is in window mode. I was able to do it but you have to position the mouse at the very edge of the firefox window. Please fix this! Maybe you could make it so that when the mouse passes over the edge of the Firefox window the sidebar reappears.
It works well with the default, but it doesn't work for a lot of themes. I don't see why it can't just change the set background of the theme. Theme developers should be forced to code their themes a certain way so that personas can switch their background. Otherwise they can't submit the theme. I gave it 3 though since I like the default ff skin, but i'd still like to use other themes sometimes. I like the huge variety of personas though. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.1).
It would be great if there was an option to choose how far down the page, by percentage or something, the next is will be loaded.
I love how fastestfox loads the next page for google and also many other websites that have multiple pages. Having internet results of websites shown while typing into the address is really helpful too.
It works great for me with windows 7 ultimate.I would like if you could change the color yourself for the words on the menus and tabs and other places. Meaning all text in the browser. Also there should be an option to change the contrast/brightness of the text for each section (bookmarks, tabs, menu bar)
