Web Of Trolls Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Yet another trick of leading western companies, a Trojan horse.

MyWOT has been secretly funded by leading western companies to eliminate existing and all future competition thus protecting their absolute market domination. When Internet was still free, large companies were losing profits to smaller and medium sized businesses. They came up with a plan. MyWOT was born. It sneaked its way onto about a million of computers (true stats) like a parasite, like a virus, fooling people with their free service, free plugin and whatnot. Now people can only visit their websites, purchase from their websites, because their websites are green by default. Those companies know what you're doing as well, what you like to visit, buy, watch and they will adapt to it, they will offer you stuff based on that data.

It's a ring of businessmen that finance these sort of services. They want to stay on top. Usually they start a free service, something everyone will accept, because it's free, then they manipulate public opinions, shift interests which drives money their way. It's what Facebook is anyway, it's a system of different services that are all connected together with sole goal of driving money into pockets of true owners who hide behind people they picked to have relations with the public. They usually pick one guy to be the face, frontman of such service. Then they create a legend about them, example: "this one studied this and that or didn't, had an idea, it was hard to realize such idea, he was very determent and persistent, so he made it, etc.". They pick such people that look plain and simple so that common people can think that's achievable for them as well and dream about those goals. Stories are constructed in a careful manner so they get accepted by the majority of people. But it's always a story of struggle, hope, determination and success after many years of trying. It's, of course, all fake, but people don't know that. It's all a smokescreen of deception, advertisement, brainwashing, etc. Services like Twitter, WOT, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. are all a part of this system, the system supports them, system created them. Of course, none of the common people will ever walk the same path as those chosen ones, but will dream and waste time and money trying to achieve similar goals, because they were made to appear achievable by the parasites on top of the pyramid, the masters of illusion.

The reason why they declared Internet open and free is for it to enter into every home and business so that it would have a bigger impact when they take it over. Internet was actually never truly free and open and all free services are actually funded by people who control finances as those free services are advertised with huge budgets. It's an illusion of free and freedom, a deception.

WOT ratings are based on opinions of WOT users / community and companies that fund WOT scam. Companies that fund WOT and WOT staff hide behind their forum community which are not experts in security, hacking, scams and other similar topics, it's just their personal opinion or, in case of companies that fund WOT, agenda to prevent competition from taking their market share. So, WOT community is not the owner of WOT, companies are owners. Community is just a facade, a smokescreen, a deception, a trick companies hide behind. WOT community are common people, most of which are undereducated or uneducated, illiterate and/or minors. You can't really be wise and put your browsing security into hands of such community as you'd be putting yourself at risk. Even though WOT is advertised as security service on Facebook and over Internet, they're not going to protect you against phishing, credit card frauds, malwares, viruses, adwares nor spywares, it's simply completely useless as real threat websites are either not rated at all or are marked as safe. You just need to be smart enough to realize that WOT advertisements are a bunch of lies and deceptions like any other advertisement with sole agenda of driving traffic to wanted companies websites and away from their competition.

So, in short, you get what you paid for ... nothing, plus you give them a chance to brainwash you :)

WOT accuracy provides a false sense of security Rated 1 out of 5 stars

WOT in itself doesn't have the ability to scan or identify a website and whether it is good or bad. WOT will not decrease or increase a sites rating even with a known ownership change. This works both ways a previously good site that is now questionable rides with a good reputation. A previously bad site that is actually good stays as a bad site, and may take weeks, months or even years to change.

WOT is nothing more than a repeater, with many inaccuracies. WOT does absolutely no verification's on it's own, and has a let it ride policy. The let it ride policy leaves it's users with a false security. A false sense of security is worse than not having any security.

I would not recommend that anyone use this software believing there truly protected, with a impartial or active management. There not really doing anything, as I said. The line of it can't be manipulated is false. If you dislike a site because your republican and it's a democrat site you can rate it poorly, not because it's a bad site just because disagree. It has nothing to do with whether it's a good or bad site.

I don't own a website, I don't care they can't affect my rating. I do however believe that it has to be true to all, not just who you want it to be.

40 years with communications, electronics engineering and logistics, does give me a right to state what I see.

Wot am Abgrund Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Multiprocess Firefox. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

With Fx 48+, e10's enabled, WOT only works with DuckDuckGo, no buttons to the right of search results with Google/Bing.
The bug is being ignored by both Mozilla and WOT.

Be nice if someone could fix this. WOT is a five star extension :)

It was fine until recently when occassional 'black screens' occur Rated 3 out of 5 stars

WOT was a pretty good add-on and worked well for years. Recently it's started to show 'black screens' on the pop up box. There's no way to get rid of it unless you close the browser, which is pretty lame. Hopefully they fix this or it'll start being more of a problem than a solution.

We'd love to learn more about this from you

Hi, many thanks for reporting this to us! Would you kindly email our support staff at support (at) mywot.com with more details about this?
Please include what browser you're using, screenshots, and example URLs of sites with a black screen popup.
Kind regards,
MyWOT Team

Very Good Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I wouldn't be without it. With this, our browsing is safer and more informed and we can all contribute to keep it that way.

Einfach perfekt! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Send one to THE FEDS Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the best add-on for me. As I move through new websites, I keep an eye on my green wheel. I try to be careful but curiosity is always there and now I can indulge thanks to this GREAT add-on.
Thank you very much for that.

Shares your browsing history with a marketing company. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

After viewing some private URLs (a url with a string of random characters, and these weren't published anywhere) I saw these URLs requested from address owned by Kontera (Amobee), a marketing company. Had some friends test it out and if you have the WoT plugin, it the same thing. So.... WoT is sending your browsing history to ad companies.

Great resource! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One of my must have add-ons Rated 5 out of 5 stars

To those complaining some people put false ratings for a website, remember this is a GUIDE. If it's flagged as a bad site, it is probably is, if it's marked safe, it depends on how many positive ratings it has and in any case, in the end if you have doubts you should research it before visiting. WOT is an invaluable 1st step for deciding if you should visit a website or not. It's not meant to protect kids from bad sites; and IMHO parents should be supervising their kids surfing; there's software to help with that. The latter is NOT the purpose of WOT!

Not the addon we deserve, but the one we need Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addon works exactly has promised. Avoided quite a few scams since I use it.
Otherwise I have found the user-made databased to be biased sometimes.

Made switching tabs very slow Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I was wondering for very long time, why after longer session, tabs in the browser were switching very slow (about 1 sec. or more). I had this problem for very long time, about a year (I started to notice and get annoyed by it after I began to use another browser sometimes). Creating new profiles (but i was turning on sync just after that, so the addons were downloaded) didn't help. Finally i tested turning off all addons, one by one. Turned out that after disabling wot, problem with switching completely disappeared.

Contemptible behaviour. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Awful, selfish, self serving jerks. They are all trolls that low rank good honest websites so that theirs have a higher ranking. Like Mac cafe antivirus, my mothers doll pattern website and other innocent business gets a not trusted ranking. Don't put this in it's a worse then a scam it's an infringement on the publics trust. Go into their forums, lurk don't post read for a few days and you'll see how they attack people that try to show their innocence. In response they further slander the persons reputation and will go and down-rank their website even more. Pure evil, I swear they all must have personality disorders.

The key to safe browsing! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I like how useful this addon is. It should not be considered as a replacement for anti-virus - it can block unsafe sites and links. Keep in mind that the ratings are generated by other users - overall it's very trustworthy!

Won't browse without WOT Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Been using WOT on Chrome for years, truly one of the great addons that's here to stay. Thanks for your hard work and keep it up!
