I loved Opera's wand when I used it. It's the only thing I still missed after switching to Fx so my transition is complete.

Secure Login is an absolutely outstanding extension to the Firefox Password Manager. Together with the Autofill Forms add-on, the combination is a credible alternative to paying for closed-source software like Roboform. THANKS Sebastian!

I love this add-on. It is simple, reliable, and very useful.

What's wrong with those reviews... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It is really surprised to see an addon have been kept on rating low due to comparison with a commercial product (its free version is almost useless) associated with a bulky tool bar.

Such reviews are really not helpful for users to see whether this addon is buggy or if there are any other better alternatives. What a shame on OSS culture!

BTW, thank you for developer's suggestion to us to have a look on the discussion on Secure Login + Autofill Form.

Allen: because RoboForm is easier to synchronize, make portable, is more versatile and works in multiple browsers? If you don't need any of that, this is indeed a good alternative.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.2.9).

Portability and Synchronization

The portability of RoboForm stops at different operating systems than Windows.
Secure Login + Firefox Password Manager can be run on any platform that runs Firefox. If Firefox is installed on the target platform you only need to take your Firefox profile with you.
And Secure Login can be easily used with the Portable Edition of Firefox , too.

Backup and import of your passwords stored with Firefox Password Manager is quite easy and doesn't require any additional tool:
http://securelogin.mozdev.org/drupal/wiki/Password_Manager#toc7

And for the synchronization of all your Firefox data there is Mozilla Weave, which works seamlessly with Secure Login + Firefox Password Manager and is a product of Mozilla:
https://services.mozilla.com/

Regarding versatility I would say you should have a look at Autofill Forms, which can be integrated into Secure Login:
http://autofillforms.mozdev.org/

You should add option to copy firefox passwords Rated 3 out of 5 stars

So it is easy for firefox users to change.

Password export/import

Secure Login is just a login extension to Firefox Password Manager, it doesn't manage passwords.

Though it is easy to export/import the passwords stored with Firefox Password Manager:

This should entice other Opera users Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Secure Login is like a Opera Wand.
There is Fast Dial or Ubiuty.
There are IRC addons.
Simple Mail - like Opera's mail built in
Opera's sidebar

sadly i didn't find opera themes for firefox

This is a must have! Why pay for RoboForm when this does almost everything?

bizform bar needs to make a firefox version. so far its wasted on just ie. so were stuck with these kinda password managers until time.

Password manager

Secure Login is not a password manager - it's an extension to Firefox own integrated login manager.
But the combination of Firefox login manager and Secure Login makes a very decent password manager in my opinion.

Excellent addon. I've been trying both the new Opera and Firefox, and this was one feature that Opera has that FF didn't and I was sorely missing it.

Only problem I can see is that it doesn't work for Gmail, at least not on mine. It tells me the username form can't be blank and under the pw form it says it couldn't log me in at this time. Logging in manually works fine. Other than that, great addon!

Works on Gmail

I'm using Secure Login for my own Gmail login and can confirm that it does work without problems.

i really don't see why ppl give a non roboform like password manager anything more then 3 stars

if you have to save anything in the browser's password manager and it wont auto fill anything, its almost worthless.

for some reason no one will make a free roboform clone, just half assed password managers that do 1/5 what roboform does.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.2.7).

Secure Login is no Roboform clone

Secure Login is a login extension to Firefox password manager and claims to improve the convenience and security of the login process - nothing more.

Together with the Autofill Forms add-on it can be a good replacement for Roboform. See my post on the mozillazine forums for the advantages of Secure Login + Autofill Forms over Roboform:

I haven't tried this yet, but I can't stand the nerve of those who would rate it one star because the author hasn't caught up to v3.0.1 after, no doubt, the big effort to needed to make it work with v3.0! After all, there's a link to a support page for such complaints so soon after release of v3.0.1.

Automatic login!! Please!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very good Add-on, only this lacking the functionality of when the page be carried, Secure Login to do the login automatically

Thanks you!!!

Auto-login

Although I do not recommend to use this feature, it is already available as "Hidden Setting":

An absolutely invaluable add-on. No more having to remember or reset your logins and passwords for all the sites you visit. Sebastian's other add-on, Autofill Forms, is similarly excellent.
