Abandoned Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Sadly this extension is not working on newer releases of Firefox. Needs an update, but the developer has abandoned the project.

Someone should make their own, new, version of this.

single multi search extention of it's kind is not working from FF v17 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

this is single Maxthon browser like multisearch tools. Even it's not as comfortable as in Maxthon bro but you cope with multisearching tasks until FF v16. IT'S A PITTY

No longer developed Rated 4 out of 5 stars

If you use "All-in-One Sidebar", this is a great addition. Although at the time of this writing, it is no longer developed. Consequently, "Categories" do NOT function correctly. Actually I do not see this as any great loss as it only seems to add extra clicks to each search. But I do feel if an add-on has an option it should work correctly. So I wrote this code for "Stylish" that hides the non functioning "Categories" in Search Sidebar for those like myself that do not wish to see it.

#search-deck #categorymenu {
display: none !important;

nice but... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

i really like this addon its sort of what i am looking for (almost).I would love to see the search results in the sidebar also underneath the search engines. Then click on the result you want and it opens in the right hand pane.Being able to expand the search results to full length of page and able to scroll. Also bring the page in the right hand side to the front,or zoom as soon as you hover over it with your mouse.do you know what i mean? Also being able to click on each search engine in the search bar while your still on that page and bring up the results in the search bar, clicking on the result, and each time bringing up ah new tabbed page on the right so you could just tab through all your pages without leaving at all and even backspace on your results in the search bar...sound confusing??..lol this is what the "FIZZIK" browser tried to accomplish but sadly didnt:( would be awsome.ty so much for this addon.keep up the good work

Pale Moon (Firefox) 9.01 - Using this with All in one Sidebar without any problem, added a button to the aios by customizing toolbar for quick access. (Could use Ctrl + Shift + k but I'm a 'mouse' user).

I have a lot of search engines installed, so the categorize feature is a welcome addition - especially as there seems to be an inordinately large space between each of the listed search engines (which may be due to a very large favicon for a couple of the search sites).

I also have to remember to reset the category to 'All' before I exit the Search Sidebar, as if I don't, I will only have access to the search engines in the category I was in in the url (omnibar) search bar. Consequently I would like to see it automatically revert to 'All'' on close, or at least have an option for it.

It would also be nice, not essential, to have the option to select/unselect all search engines in a category.

This suggestion from a review 3 years ago sounds good to me.
'Just one thing I wish you could reconsider. Categories are a bit limited. Choose a category and you lose the ability to see other search modules. Why not use a tree structure like the left pane of Windows Explorer instead? Create custom folders then drag and drop modules. Expand or collapse and choose as you wish. Seems more flexible, no?'

Overall I would recommend Search Sidebar

Exactly what I was after. Does what it says. Thank you

Omnibar + Search Sidebar = win Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I just wish that you could configure a keyboard shortcut (i.e. the original ctrl + E) for accessing search sidebar.

How do I add a new search engine to sidebar? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I cannot find how to add a new search engine.

Great Add-on!! Thank you for your work!!
One problem is that it uses the current tab instead of opening a new tab (I use Tab utilities).
One suggestion: the two lines "Search Sidebar" and "Search Engines" are utterly useless and are a waste of screen estate.
Thanks again.

Good Extension

+ quite useful
- even on a fast machine slow (takes long to load categories)

Would be nice to have more options.

When I first downloaded this I thought it would display the search results in the search sidebar pane, but instead it merely displays the results in a new tab. i was looking for an addon to add functionality similar to seamonkey's search sidebar results (which resemble lycos sidesearch).

A tweak and docs would help Rated 4 out of 5 stars

So far I like this AddOn. I would agree with the poster who suggested it needs a command for "Select All" and "Deselect All" as checking a dozen boxes gets old fast. Also there's no explanation how to do Categories. Some kind of usage info would make life a lot easier. The only thing that seems like a bug or flaw is it seems to overwrite the current tab in the browser. IOW, if I have 3 search engines checked, only 2 tabs are added. I have to remember which tab was overwritten so I can back button to it later.

Make it deadly Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I think you guys are on right path to make this great plugin.

Consider these things.

1) The moment I select a search engine, I want to see the results immediately on new tab or same tab.

2) Optional but consider this also. The moment I deselect a search engine, I want to close search engine results (OR close the search results tab).

3) Working Ctrl+Shift+k shortcut.

4) Button to clear all search engine selections at once.

5) Last but not least and quite useful. Ability to add new search engines based on search URI for search word 'cool' (Similar to coolpreview search)

Its is true. Categories don't work if "Organize Search Engines" plugin is installed.

E-sse-nt-ial! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I wish this project comes back to life for Firefox 3.x... Paraller search should become a feature in every browser.

5 stars for compatible Fx versions. I wish it worked with Minefield.

Great Potential Rated 5 out of 5 stars

but development seems to be dragging for reasons unknown. Based on OpenSearch, this plugin could bring much needed organization and other functionality to standard search engines. I strongly recommend encouraging and supporting this extension. At best, this version is beta and should be in the experimental sandbox.

This a lousy firefox add-on. I would not recommend it.
