Totatlly useless, outdated.

Update please! Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Great concept but unfortunately doesn't work with Firefox 32 final + Media Plus 2.1.2.
Please update because is a very smart addon.

This worked brilliantly, but after a reformat and reinstalling everything, clicking on the "Start MediaPlus" button does nothing at all. Maybe it worked with old version of FF I may have had but wont work with version 30.0. Shame because it worked so well before and now I miss this add-on big time.

Working on it

I am aware of this and am working on a fix. Should have something pretty soon. Once I push the fix, it should auto-update for you.

Thank you for your interest in the extension.

Unmaintained? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I have not been able to get this addon to work for Firefox 16 or later.

EDIT: The issue I'm having is that when I click on the icon, it just pops up a window that says "Loading" forever. AMO tells me this addon isn't even available for 16, even though I am able to enable it. I attempted to install the Chrome version but for some reason it never got past the "Checking..." phase, and the Bookmarklet link on the author's site doesn't show up for me in any browser, which is why I made the admittedly poor assumption that the project wasn't maintained.

Hi Heptite, Thank you for your interest in the application. I have been actively maintaining the application. Infact, I just released a new version of the application that works with the latest versions of Firefox. The source code is open source on github and you can see the commits, and their dates. Can you please describe the problem so that I could help fix it ?

Edit: If you refresh the page after installing the addon, you should be able to see the addon working.

was great but one major bug Rated 4 out of 5 stars

had an awesome time with this add-on, but then I accidentally clicked help information button on the menu and couldn't get out of help menu. ended up going through entire thing without finding a solution, so I had to restart my browser to reset mediaplus...

author, please add an exit button to any help dialog you put in your add-on, it doesn't help if we can't use the information while we're focused, on task.

other than that nothing else happened, great app!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.420.1.1-signed.1-signed).

Nice suggestion, will add it. Thnx.

With the latest update, all other bugs should go away, and you should be able to get it working ...

Flash crash Rated 2 out of 5 stars

This is a good addon but I found Flash was crashing much more often, after removing MediaPlus there were no more Flash crashes.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.420.1.1-signed.1-signed).

Can you please give me an example of the site where Flash seems to crash ? I am looking at using CSS3 transforms, instead of positioning the flash, and that should fix any more bugs that you notice.

The idea is great, but realisation is buggy Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Some of the bugs are not regular.
It's hard to make this extension handle an embedded video.
It doesn't close the resized video container.
When pinning a video to the screen - the video gets reloaded, which sux.
After clicking "lights out" the controls hide until you hit Esc. What if I want to do something with the video without turning lights on?

Response to comments

Thank you for your review. Can you please explain some of the points ? You could also talk to us at http://nparashuram.com/contact.html if you prefer email communication instead for feedback.

1. Can you please explain the problems you have when you say handling embedded videos is hard?

2. You can hit ESC or cross button to come out of resized mode.

3. Only flash videos get reloaded as their wmode have to change. This is an inherent limitation of flash, can't really do much about it.

4. Light Out followed by action - good suggestion. Will look for more user feedback and implement it.
