trying this add-on was wasted time!
Keine Funktion Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Kein Symbol in der Toolbar, kein Kontext-Menü, gar nichts. Gott allein weiß, wozu das gut sein soll...

Well, it did not work with FF 48.
Feb 2016 - Still doesn't work. Rated 1 out of 5 stars
It flickers a bit and then opens a blank new tab.
Doesn't work as advertized Rated 1 out of 5 stars
It un-maximizes the current window, then opens the link in a new window, also un-maximized. That is not useful.

Doesn't work with Firefox 31.0, it simply opens a new blank window! This user has a previous review of this add-on.

It simply don't work

tudo que essa coisa faz é abrir outra janela, não é "split screen" como o maxthon browser faz.

Wow... super useful. Others complaining about 'reproducing native functionality' in splitting into windows. Sure... but now I can do that in a single click. Friggin' rocks!
Crappy hack Rated 1 out of 5 stars
This isn't a spilt-window browsing addon, this just does what you can do it 2 seconds by opening a new window and tiling vertically. But it does it as a horrible hack, that's buggy and slow. Don't bother.
Worth The Add-on Space Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Fox Splitter works really well! I only have one complaint, when splitting, it does not save the state of the webpage. This is slightly annoying but I can deal with it...
Wonderful Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Works like advartised. I use it mainly for the synced scrolling feauture.

I have tried it and it works fine on Fifrefox 21.
Pain in the page Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Back when this first came out it worked golden. Now nothing but bugs and frustration to get the page to split correctly and visibly..had to reinstall cause it wasn't working at all. Still has bugs... fix this garbage please
It just doesn't work. Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Not work at all. I have installed it for a long time, but I never saw it could work. Windows XP SP3 FF19.0.2.
Worked OK, but description is for a totally different extension! Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Fox Splitter inexplicably has the description belonging to an earlier project by the same name. *This* extension clones the Firefox window so there's two of them -- the old one, which the description is all about, really does let the user show more than one website within a single window.
To be fair, I'm going to review the extension as if the description didn't exist or was marginally accurate.
It works fairly well for what it's intended to do (create two synchronized windows), and has all of the options that a power user could hope for; I also really appreciated that it's a No-Restart install.
I did run into some problems, using Firefox 19 for Linux:
-- The location bar on the newer window was halfway obscured by the webpage; nothing I tried would fix it.
-- The toolbar-hiding settings couldn't apply to the add-on bar, as it's coded for the defunct statusbar.
-- It was impossible to align the windows without putting them both against the bottom of the screen; one would automatically jump a little higher/lower than the one I moved.
-- When I resized a window and its twin did so as well, they moved but still ended up overlapping quite a bit.
If I was doing the right kinds of online research right now, I'd find this extension very handy, so I'm keeping it bookmarked. Given the programmer's seeming inability to update things to match changes in Firefox (or his/her own extension) I assume "Fox Splitter" won't exist by then. :-/
Not working on Mac Rated 1 out of 5 stars
nice idea, but I expected something totally different.
Not Resizing all Firefox windows but using compositions and "windows" in Firefox main window itself.
This plugin just tries to resize the window with the classic WM functions which might work on Windows but not on my Mac!
Also I have had different Problems opening FF Settings, etc. as long the window was "resized" to a 10x10 px "box"
That's ridiculous! Sorry guys..
The tabs get screwed up Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Installed it, see the icon, pressed it, it just opened a new window on the right side and adjusting the main window on the left side.
And then when clicked on that icon again, every tabs I'd all got screwed up and opened in its own separate tiny/micro sized window. Using Firefox 14.0
Do not use it. Its horrible and you will loose your tabs history as I did.
I couldn't see such a problem on my environments: Firefox 14.0.1 on Windows Vista and Ubuntu 12.04. Do you use any other addon which can conflict with multiple windows managed by Fox Splitter?
