I'm a minimalist and a web developer. Not only do I like having fewer items in my menu space, but I wanted the most space I could get for my address bar because I'm often working with long URLs. Also, just from a browsing standpoint, I never liked the fact that opening a new tab focused the location bar and not the search bar. 9 times out of 10 I'm opening a new tab to search, not to navigate. This way, no matter what I'm looking to do with the new tab I've opened, the one text area on my screen is focused and ready for input.
As of now, Foobar is quite stable and I'd just like to keep it that way. It does one thing, and I want it to do that one thing well - not add and add to it until it does a hundred crazy things. One thing that is important to me is to keep it working through future Firefox updates, and to make it compatible with any other addons that manipulate anything related to Foobar, like search engine managers or other location bar addons; within reason, of course.
