Great product Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'm very pleased with this add-on in general. Very slick - I like the interface more than that of ghostery (although I think it could be even better if it gave you more info about the individual companies/trackers that it blocks). I've noticed that I have to continually re-block the google +1 button, but I'm assuming that has something to do with my cookieculler settings so I'm not too worried about that.

The reason I gave it four stars is that it seems like ghostery blocks more trackers. I did a quick comparison on and found that ghostery blocks more companies (, 24/7 real media, and scorecard research beacon).

Here is the list of what ghostery blocks, ([X] means DNT+ blocks it as well):

24/7 real media
chartbeat [X]
facebook connect [X]
facebook social plugins [this may be blocked by DNT+ as well, just not listed separately]
google +1 [X]
google analytics [X]
quantcast [X]
scorecard research beacon

EDIT: thanks for the quick response. I probably should have mentioned this in my review, but I compared the site with 1) ghostery enabled and DNT+ disabled, and then 2) DNT+ enabled and ghostery disabled.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (

Running Ghostery & DNT+ simultaneously

Hi, and thanks for the great review! We wanted to clarify why you're seeing lower tracking numbers for DNT+ than for Ghostery. If you are running both Ghostery and DNT+ at the same time, then sometimes DNT+ will report lower numbers of sites blocked because it never sees the request to the tracking site once Ghostery blocks it. Probably because of the order you installed the add ons, Ghostery is first in line to block requests. Once a request has been blocked, processing on that request stops and other add-ons never see it. In your configuration, then, DNT+ is working as a back-stop to Ghostery, so any numbers it reports are ones that Ghostery missed.

Hope that clears things up for you, and thanks for using DNT+!
