Disconnect Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you! Good add-on,open source,no whitelists like ghostery uses!

Whitelist ? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

very good tool! I can not log into facebook. Can someone tell me where the whitlist is? Can not find it, see it anywhere.

Thank you for your kind words! If you click on the D icon of our extension in your toolbar, you will see the whitelist site option listed in the menu that opens. Clicking that will whitelist the site, and clicking it again will blacklist the site.

Currently there is not an option to see all of the sites that you have whitelisted, but this is a feature we're looking into adding to make the whitelist option easier to manage for our users.

EXCELLENT! less annoying than the ghost one.

Works fine, good add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Sleek and unintrusive, I like it. I'm using this together with NoScript.

Excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Haven't found any problems. Goodbye adverts.

It needs some tweaks. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately this app blocks some media, like embed videos. Maybe it works too well? I don't know, this is the only problem I have with it.

If you ever run into this issue, you can use the whitelist option in the extension to unblock all trackers on the website that you are visiting where you see elements not loading properly.

Unfortunately some websites will not load properly when their trackers are not also allowed to load, so we added the whitelist feature for our users in these cases.

Slows Firefox surfing experience, no updated since 20013 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

As Youcke mentioned, this hasn't been updated in more than 3 and a half years. Only after uninstalling it, I realized, how it slowed down my Firefox and the issues I had with some websites are dissolved.

Every good programm has issues to be fixed and has to be maintained regularly imo.

Thank you for the feedback, and it is very strange that you saw a slowdown with our extension. That is certainly not normal, and we'll be sure to investigate what was going on.

We do make updates to our blocked tracker lists that to do not require us to release new versions of the extension, and we released a new version on January 28, 2015.

Great addon - but still being developed? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love the add-on and services, but lately I got a bit worried since the last update for Firefox add-on was in 2015 and seems to be 2 versions behind the Chrome add-on (which is on 5.x). Same for the Disconnect Android application which was last updated in 2013.

Are these still being developed?

We really appreciate your concern, and browser extensions and our Android apps are still being actively developed. The Chrome version of our extension has required more changes due to compatibility issues with newer versions of Chrome, but both still being worked on.

great - but Rotten Tomatoes needs to be considered in future updates Rated 4 out of 5 stars

great addon - but the widely used rotten tomatoes needs to either be whitelisted or turn off F1 (whatever that is) in order for the openong box office link to work:

We appreciate you letting us know about the issue with our extension and Rotten Tomatoes. Our developers are going to look into this to see what they can do.

Also, as a user, you can whitelist a site from the extension menu by selecting "whitelist" while visiting the page you'd like to be whitelisted.

great but some web page content being loaded properly Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It does its job really well. I just want to report that some content(i think interactive) are not loaded in some sites/pages while this add-on is enabled. It's true for both firefox and chrome browsers.

For example, this web page http://www.metrolyrics.com/news-gallery-the-best-90s-movie-soundtracks-ranked.html , some js is/are not working. For another site it just shows "loading content".

I unblocked all the categories to see if that will load the content, but no. I hope you can fix this, thanks.

We really appreciate you letting us know about this, and it is strange that the content does not load even after you have whitelisted the webpage. Our developers are going to look into what is causing the trouble.

Blocks what you want Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Stop trackers and makes websites load quicker. Recommended

Works great, but blocks another addon. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

For some strange reason Disconnect interfere with "Who stole my pictures" addon, prevents it to open new tab and work properly. Small problem, but irritates me.

Thank you for letting us know about this conflict! Our developers will look into this to see if there is anything we can do to help with the "Who stole my pictures" add-on interference.

[Electrolysis] and Disconnect incompatiblity Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It looks like Disconnect doesn't block anything when Electrolysis is activated in Firefox.

Note : I have Ublock Origin installed too if that helps

Thank you for letting us know about this potential conflict, and our developers will investigate the issue to see if there is anything we can do on our end to sort this out. We appreciate you telling us!

Comments section blocked Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The comments section on CNET.com and ZDNet.com are inaccessible with Disconnect active. Normally you click "show comments" to unroll the comments section but clicking gives no result. Comments counter does not show up either.

Thank you for letting us know about this, and we'll investigate if there is anything we can do on our end. Some elements on a page may not load if the page's trackers are not also allowed to load. If you see this happen, you may want to try the extension's Whitelist feature. This will unblock all trackers on the page and allow it to load as if the extension was not installed.

Great product

Parfait ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Fonctionne très bien pour moi.
Associé à ADguard et Privacy Settings.
Merci pour cet addon !

Google Konten Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Disconnect blockiert Google Konten!

Thank you for letting us know about this, and that is very odd. We do block third-party tracking by Google, but we should not be blocking your access to your Google account. If you would not mind, please write into our support at support@disconnect.me with details about what you were seeing so we can look into this.

it works nicely in Firefox, weird behaviour in Safari Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Q1. unclear if in Firefox, Disconnect proper includes the other 3 add-ons available by the same developer, namely facebook/google/twitter disconnect. Or are they supposed to be installed individually as well? Also, for some reason Disconnect search opens a separate window in private browsing which I don't need & cannot reverse manually - the only way to go back to normal browsing after that is to close/restart the browser - any idea why?
Q2. Disconnect in Safari behaves oddly. At browser launch, it takes me automatically to the Disconnect site - why if not set as home page? It also places 2 or more additional cookies that cannot be blocked: amazon & stripe (noticed several others, not sure if related). Also, clicking on FAQ from the Disconnect site prompts five similar tabs to open - why? Tried to fix this by uninstalling all add-ons, then cleared the cache, restarted the computer, reinstalled the add-ons but it still behaves oddly. All in all, at least in Safari, Disconnect is neither privacy- nor user-friendly.
Hope you can help. Thank you.

Our Disconnect extension does include all of the protection of our Google/Twitter/Facebook extensions. It is designed to unify and expand the protection of the other three extensions, and with this extension, you do not need them.

That is extremely strange behavior on Safari and not how the extension should work. If you would not mind, please write in to our support team at support@disconnect.me with the details on what you are seeing, so we can investigate what is going on.
